Good afternoon, splendid Hive platform! I send you warm greetings full of affection and love, and I also want to wish the project https://scrobble.life/ a happy weekend. Welcome to my review!

Today I bring you another track that was part of the album Help! and, consequently, the film of the same name. These scenes in the video I'm showing you today were filmed in Avebury, England. It made me laugh to learn that it was very cold there and Ringo was freezing. You can see it on his face in the image. Of course, the others are too, but Ringo looks more comical and funny, especially since he was wearing a very funny cap, hahaha. The song is called "The Night Before" from 1965, a beautiful track.

The video vaguely shows the famous historical sculptures of Stonehenge, (This prehistoric monument is shown in greater detail in another song from the same film.) which reminded me of my second year of high school World History and Geography classes when the teacher referred to those monuments as ancient and very old sculptures, hahaha (remember that this film was shot in several countries).

On another note, I should mention that this song was written by the legendary Lennon-McCartney duo. We can hear Paul on lead vocals, also double-tracked, playing bass, while John and George provide backing vocals and play rhythm and lead guitar respectively (in the video, John plays an electronic piano, but in the song, he plays both instruments). The song was recorded at EMI Studios in London in mid-February 1965.

Many music critics, and I agree, consider this song a tribute to Motown-style singers, because long before they became famous, they performed songs by Black artists from both the Motown label and legendary jazz, rhythm and blues, and soul artists. I've always seen The Beatles as pioneers in many ways. However, before them, there was already a beginning, something already explored by many musicians and styles. That's why we see the phenomenon of them admiring many of their predecessors before they were famous, and many songs were recorded in honor of those predecessors. Then, after Beatlemania in 1964, even those same legendary artists were already seeking out and admiring the four long-haired lads from Liverpool. Amazing, isn't it?

This song's main theme is the heartbreak of a man whose partner has changed her mind overnight. Here, they include romantic disillusionment, indifference, and a lack of love, when before it was the complete opposite: a broken love that was believed to be sincere but never was.

I wasn't born when this song came out, a very common lyric these days, which many people live and feel.

What a beautiful song, Cayitus... I’ve been dancing to the rhythm of making lunch in my kitchen—rock music and cooking all at once—swaying on this gloomy day because I’ve been without electricity for five hours. Yet, the Beatles' songs about heartbreak helped me shed light—artificial light—on memories of when love came knocking and the disillusionment that followed; oh, that terrible disillusionment which, just like in the Beatles' video, led to a sad and heart-wrenching conclusion.

In the video, I could admire the spectacular monuments you learned about thanks to your geography teacher—what a difference in education, my friend! At my school, the teacher only showed me the petroglyphs of the Timoto-Cuicas people from Güigüe, the sculpture of the Goddess of Tacarigua, and the area around the river on Isla de la Culebra, right here in Los Guayos.

Oh, Cayitus, you’ve brought together love, music, videos, an iconic band—with their drums, pianos, and bass guitars—geography, heartbreak and its woes, and your sublime high school lessons, all in a single post. You are truly sublime—watch out now, Cayi, look out for that whirlwind!

@cositav Greetings, dear friend! My high school teacher taught us many things, including the Stonehenge monument in England. It's briefly shown in the video, but it's much clearer in "I Need You"... yes, I know the song is about heartbreak and disappointment, sad but it's part of some loves, what can I say... a hug.

Hi, @cayitus63, What an excellent review you’ve shared with us today.

I totally agree with you: "The Night Before" is a gem from the Help! era that sometimes gets overshadowed by the big singles, but it has that energy and Motown touch that makes it unforgettable. I really enjoyed the detail about Ringo in the video shot at Avebury; honestly, his expressions while dealing with the cold—and that hat—give the footage a unique charm.

It’s fascinating to see how the Black music of that era influenced them and how, later on, there was mutual respect between them and their idols. Thanks for sharing such an enjoyable and upbeat analysis. Have a great weekend and all the best!

With much love for all of you, talking about them is talking about music itself, about innovation and charisma personified, in this case, four of them, hehe... Thank you so much, darling, a big hug. !LADY
