[Music] A legendary song with a very particular story about three main characters - "You're Going to Lose That Girl"-1965

On this wonderful night, I'm sharing my impressions and some historical facts about one of their most popular songs: "You're Going to Lose That Girl."

In this song, the Fab Four once again employ triangulation. One person tells another that they'll lose their partner. We see three protagonists again, engaging in a play on words or a conversation among themselves. But there's a twist: the one who says the other person will lose the girl is the one who's actually worried about that loss, because he's romantically interested in her. The lyrics develop a little story that hints at this interest. Lennon and McCartney are incredibly clever and brilliant in this masterful song. I love that song, for its brilliance and the masterful way they approach it.
Seeing Ringo in the video filling the entire room where they're performing the song is incredibly irreverent and comical of him. It was a real gem that he smoked a cigarette to relieve stress on the set, haha. Ringo is always so charming and unique, and his drumming is masterful and virtuosic.

The song is from the album Help!, and it's also part of the soundtrack for the film of the same name. In fact, the video he gave them is taken from that film, featuring them performing the song. And of course, the song was composed by Lennon and McCartney. You can hear John Lennon's lead vocals and the backing vocals by Paul McCartney and George Harrison, along with their usual musical instruments. Ringo plays his drums relaxed, smoking a cigarette, and he also plays the mushrooms. As I mentioned in previous reviews, they used four recording channels, each carrying one or more instruments. A four-channel console was the latest trend in recording in 1965, the year they recorded this song, specifically in mid-February at EMI Studios in London, produced by George Martin.

I'm intrigued by the film Help! because if you watch the video and the entire film, they're in a recording studio, but a few minutes later they're in a snowy environment, and that's when they perform "Ticket to Ride," another song from the album and the film, which I shared with you a few days ago.

I should mention that the film was shot in several countries, including the Bahamas, Austria, and England. Another fact that surprised and amazed me was learning that, at that time, and specifically for some tracks on that album, the new Fender Stratocaster guitar, masterfully played by Harrison, had slightly thicker strings, which were changed a few days later. It also included a session with an electric piano, played by McCartney, which was also cut from the original master tape. However, because the video in the film is edited, you can see McCartney playing a piano, but only in the footage. The Beatles intended to include the piano parts on their mid-90s album, The Beatles Anthology 2. However, they also included a previously unreleased song, recorded and worked on during that same period, which they never released on any album. The song, titled "That Means a Lot," was first released to the public on March 18, 1996, exactly 31 years after it was recorded. Impressive, isn't it, friends?

Well, my dear readers, that concludes this humble review. I hope you enjoyed it. We'll see each other, read each other, and comment again soon. Until next time...hugs and blessings to all!
