Volvieron los ensayos: Maripositas al aire 🎹[ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new day in my life with you. This week, work and academic activities have been resuming in several states across the country, so we’ve also started rehearsals in the choir. We’re in mourning; there are no concerts or events to celebrate any specific date or occasion. What we are doing, however, is working on a repertoire of sacred songs to accompany Masses; for example, we have a Mass this Friday, so we’ll be performing there.
By the way, some new songs have been released that are truly beautiful, especially because they fit so well with the context our country is currently experiencing. We have “Maripositas al aire” by Vicente Emilio Sojo. I really liked it, and I remember hearing it performed by the UCV Choir when we had the concert in Caracas in honor of the delegation from the Azores. Our director told us that this song was the one that, after the tragedy, paved the way for the choir’s rebirth. So right now, it’s a song with just the right tone to express a bit of the collective feeling of loss, nostalgia, and, amidst it all, a certain optimism.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. Esta semana se han estado reactivando las actividades laborales y académicas en varios estados del país, por lo que en el coro también comenzamos con los ensayos. Estamos de luto; no hay conciertos, ni eventos para celebrar alguna fecha o eventualidad solicitada. Lo que si estamos haciendo es trabajar en el repertorio de canciones sacras para acompañar las misas, por ejemplo, este viernes tendremos una misa así que iremos a ello.
Por cierto, sacaron algunas canciones nuevas que son muy hermosas, sobre todo porque encajan muy bien en el contexto que estamos viviendo en nuestro país. Tenemos "Maripositas al aire" de Vicente Emilio Sojo. Me ha gustado bastante y recuerdo haberla escuchado por el Orfeón de la UCV cuando tuvimos el concierto en Caracas en honor a la traiga de Los Azores. Nuestra directora nos contó que esa canción fue la que luego de la tragedia, dió paso al renacer del Orfeón. Así que ahora mismo es una canción con el carácter adecuado para expresar un poco el sentimiento colectivo de perdida, nostalgia y dentro de todo, cierto optimismo.
Little by little, those affected have returned to the homes of other relatives or friends who were outside Caracas. Here in Puerto Ordaz, I’ve heard of several such cases. But there’s a large portion of the population that was left with no options and is currently homeless. I’d like to know who can help them, what’s being done in these cases, and I even find myself wondering what one can do about it. I’ve also been thinking about how, many times around the world, things have happened, and even though I wasn’t indifferent, I didn’t do anything about them either. I think this opens our eyes and hearts a little, making us think about how aware we really are of these issues. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
Ya poco a poco las personas afectadas han vuelto a casa de otros familiares o amigos, que se encontraban fuera de Caracas. Aquí en Puerto Ordaz he escuchado de varios casos. Pero hay una gran parte de la población que sí se quedaron sin opciones y ahora mismo están sin hogar. Me gustaría saber quiénes podrán ayudarlos, que se hace en estos casos y hasta me pongo a pensar en que puede hacer uno al respecto. También en cómo muchas veces en el mundo pasaron cosas y aunque no fueron indiferentes, tampoco hice algo sobre ello. Creo que esto nos abre un poco los ojos y el corazón, para pensar en cuanto realmente somos de concientes ante ello. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
