Un ensayo con Canticum Merú 🎼😊 [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share a new chapter in my life with you. This time, I’d like to tell you a little about my choir rehearsal. On March 28, we’ll be celebrating Canticum Merú’s 31st anniversary (although the official anniversary is March 29), so we’ll be holding a concert at the Chapel of the Portuguese Center of Guayana. Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les comparto un poco sobre mi ensayo en el coro. Para este 28 de marzo se estará celebrando el aniversario número 31 de Canticum Merú (aunque oficialmente el aniversario es el 29 de marzo) por lo que tendremos un concierto en la Capilla del Centro Portugués de Guayana. Now I’ll tell you a little more about the repertoire we’re preparing for this event. It’s sacred music, and there are at least 12 pieces that will be sung that day. I’m new, and the girls already know practically the entire repertoire, so I’ve been studying quite a bit to be able to keep up with my fellow singers. I actually practiced this past Saturday as well, and on Friday night I worked on a piece that’s been particularly difficult for me because of the changes it involves; it’s called Nigra Sum. Although the fact that it’s a bit complex doesn’t take away from how beautiful it is—it’s truly lovely—and now that I understand a little more about how to sing it, I enjoy being able to hit some of the notes.
It was also a classmate and choir member’s birthday—she’s practically the second-longest-serving singer in the choir. It’s really nice because everyone here tries to be kind, helpful, and work as a team. Ms. Elena is very friendly and helpful. So we practiced as many songs as we could, since there’s no time left and we really want to put on a wonderful performance. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by. Ahora les cuento un poco más sobre el repertorio que se está preparando para este evento. Es música sacra y son al menos 12 piezas que se estarán cantando ese día. Yo soy nueva y ya las chicas se saben prácticamente todo el repertorio, así que he estado estudiando bastante para poder estar igual que mis compañeras. Justamente este sábado también practique y el viernes lo tomé en la noche para poder una pieza que se me ha hecho particularmente difícil por los cambios que presentan, se llama Nigra Sum. Aunque el hecho de que sean un poco complejas no quita lo hermosa que es, pues es realmente bella y ahora que comprendo un poco más sobre cómo cantarla, disfruto poder llegar a algunas notas.
También estuvo de cumpleaños una compañera de clases y de coro, quién es prácticamente la segunda cantante con más antigüedad del coro. Es bastante bonito porque aquí todas tratan de ser amables, serviciales y trabajar en equipo. La señora Elena es muy cordial y servicial. Así que estuvimos practicando todas las canciones que pudimos, pues ya no queda nada de tiempo y realmente deseamos hacer un trabajo precioso.
