Último día de la semana coral: Coral Cerro Bolívar y Cantares Cantaremos. Guayana a una voz [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new chapter in my life with you. On this occasion, I’d like to tell you about the final day of the choral week that took place this week in Ciudad Guayana to commemorate National Choral Singing Day and to offer this music as a prayer for those affected by the twin earthquakes that occurred on June 24. The centennial of Maestra Modesta Bor was also commemorated, which is why some choirs sang songs or arrangements by Modesta. This final performance took place at the Nuestra Señora del Fátima Church on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. It turned out to be a beautiful day, even though the clouds threatened to bring rain to the entire city. And it did rain, but fortunately, it was after the event.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión deseo contarles sobre el último día de la semana coral que se dió esta semana en Ciudad Guayana con motivo de conmemorar el Día Nacional del Canto Coral y con la intención de llevar esta música cómo parte de una oración para las personas afectadas por el doble terremoto sucedido el pasado 24 de junio. También se tomó en consideración el centenario de la maestra Modesta Bor, razón por la cual algunos coros cantaron canciones o arreglos de Modesta. Esta última presentación tuvo lugar en la iglesia Nuestra Señora del Fátima, el día domingo a las 3:00 de la tarde. Hacia un día muy bonito, pese que a las nubes amenazaban con traer lluvia a toda la ciudad. Y sí sucedió, pero afortunadamente luego del evento.
The choirs that participated were: Coral Cerro Bolívar FMO and Cantares Cantaremos. So I went to see my fellow choir members (from Canticum), who were performing that day. I’m glad I went because I got to meet the other choir members and hear their voices. It’s nice to be on the audience side sometimes and just enjoy the event. As for the music—which is ultimately what unites all of us present there—they sang songs like “Guayana,” “La Negra Atilia,” “Amor, Amor Amores,” “La Vasija de Barro,” and others, and at the end of the performance… “Venezuela.” For that last song, both choirs joined together, and some of the audience joined in to sing it. I joined in too, simply enjoying it all. It was a very beautiful moment. We were enveloped in the warmth of that intimacy that arises when we share something in common and no words are needed. It was a fitting and beautiful ending. With nothing more to say, thank you so much for stopping by.
Los coros que participaron fueron: Coral Cerro Bolívar FMO y Cantares Cantaremos. Así que acudí para ver a mis compañeras de coro (de Canticum), quienes se presentarían ese día. Me alegra haber ido pues pude conocer a los demás coralistas y escuchar sus voces. Es bueno y bonito poder estar a veces en el lado del espectador y disfrutar simplemente del evento. De la música, que es lo que finalmente nos une a todos los presentes en el lugar. Cantaron canciones cómo Guayana, La Negra Atilia, Amor, Amor Amores, La Vasija de Barro, otras más y al final de la presentación... Venezuela. En esa última, se unieron ambos coros y algunos de los presentes se unieron para cantarla. Me uni y simplemente disfrutando de todo. Fue un momento muy bonito. Estábamos en la calidez de esa intimidad que se produce cuando hay algo en común y no se necesitan palabras. Fue un cierre necesario y bello. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.

When there’s singing and music, you don’t need anything else; it’s a unique form of expression, where everyone involved feels the same way. It’s wonderful that you were able to take part, albeit this time as a spectator, and enjoy the singing, especially as it was for a good cause, a commemoration and to help those in need. Así es, fue un día especial con la intención de reunir a las personas en una sola voz y llevar un poquito de alegría. Algunas canciones fueron más movidas precisamente por esa intención.
