Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share another day in my life with you. This time, I’d like to tell you a little about the process involved in creating some activities for the children in the Music and Art Vacation Program. Join me as I share this with you.
This past August, we ran a summer camp for children ages 5 to 12, offering activities related to music and painting. Thanks to these activities, the children developed various skills and also created physical projects as a testament to their enthusiasm. One of these projects was a craft—a piano made from popsicle sticks, construction paper, paint, and glue. We broke these types of activities into sessions because we had to wait for the paint and glue to dry. So, the day before the summer program ended, I took the kids to my place so we could finish up some missing details that we hadn’t had a chance to complete during the program. Some of the children were very young and needed assistance. For example, they couldn’t handle hot silicone.

There was also a bubble maker that was invented by my colleague and teacher, Bethania, who hoped the children could play with it and make lots of bubbles. Unfortunately, even though we finished making bubble makers for every child, we didn’t get a chance to try them out with the kids on Friday. The good news is that they took them home. One thing I really wanted to do was make a little something for the children (a small keepsake), so I created an anime-style engraving to make a print on several sheets of opaline paper. I used oil paint as the medium for inking, and the color choice was a success—it resulted in a beautiful contrast of white and crimson. The image alludes to the union of music and painting—something they experienced throughout the week. I love working and creating. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
Me alegra trabajar y crear.
