First choir rehearsal with Canticum Merú 💖🎹[ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I'm joining you to share another day in my life. This time, I want to tell you about my first day with the Canticum Merú choir, the most beautiful women's choir in Guayana, which I was fortunate enough to join just a few days ago. Our rehearsal was on Thursday, and I was super excited, thinking about a lot of things, including how everything would go and what I needed to do. Before leaving, I got things sorted at home and work so I could arrive on time. Again, it was a beautiful day, full of sunshine and blue skies.

En esta oportunidad quiero enseñarles cómo me fue hoy en mi primer día en el coro de Canticum Merú, el coro femenino más bonito de Guayana y del cual tuve la dicha de poder entrar hace apenas unos días. El día jueves fue nuestro ensayo y estaba super entusiasmada por ello, pensando en un montón de cosas sobre cómo iría todo y que debía hacer, pero antes de irme arregle las cosas en mi casa y trabajo, para poder llegar puntual a la hora del ensayo. Nuevamente, fue un día muy bonito, lleno de sol y cielo azul.
I was happy and a little nervous about how it would all go, but to be honest, from the moment I walked into the academy for my audition, I felt comfortable and at ease. I don't know if it's because the teacher is so kind or because everything made me feel so welcome. So I got to know all my fellow choir members, who were all so kind and lovely. Some of them have been with the choir since its founding, which will celebrate its 31st anniversary on March 29th. We started with physical warm-up exercises (a little stretching here and there), then vocal exercises (they were great and I was able to warm up my voice a bit), and then we began with the repertoire they're working on. The teacher surprised everyone with the score for Lacrimosa from Amadeus, so everyone was happy.
Since I was new, I had to listen to several of the pieces first and I recorded some parts, so that later at home I could listen carefully and see what my lead singer pointed out. I'm with the sopranos, and she's very patient, by the way, and she showed me how to use the score and pay attention to everything. She even gave me her score for Lacrimosa. I have it here with me and I'll make an effort to learn everything, because they all really work very hard to make the choir something beautiful, high-quality, and professional. We finished late, and luckily, I received a payment with which I could eat some hot dogs, which I hadn't had in weeks. So enjoy your meal! Yo iba contenta y un poco nerviosa por cómo sería todo pero para ser sincera, desde el primer momento en que entré en la academia, cuando me tocó hacer la audición, me sentí cómoda cómo confortable y no se si es porque la profesora es muy gentil o porque todo el conjunto de cosas me hicieron sentir bienvenida. Así que fui conociendo a todas mis compañeras del coro, quiénes fueron muy amables y lindas. Algunas están desde la fundación del coro, el cual el 29 de marzo cumplirá 31 años. Empezamos con ejercicios de calentamiento físico (estirar un poco aquí y allá), luego vocalizar (estuvieron muy buenos y pude despertar un poco mi voz) y comenzamos con el repertorio que ellas están trabajando. La profesora me dió una sorpresa a todos con la partitura de Lacrimosa de Amadeus, así que todas estaban contentas.
Cómo yo era nueva, varias de las piezas las tuve que escuchar primero y grabé algunas cosas, para ya luego en casa escuchar con atención y ver lo que mi jefa de cuerdas me hacía notar. Estoy con las sopranos y ella por cierto es muy paciente y me enseñaba cómo guiarme con la partitura y estar pendiente de todo. Incluso me regaló su partitura del Lacrimosa. Aquí lo tengo conmigo y haré un esfuerzo por aprender todo, pues realmente todas trabajan muy duro para hacer del coro algo bello, de calidad y profesionalidad. Terminamos tarde y por suerte, recibí un pago con el que me pude comer unos perritos calientes que tenía semanas sin comer. Así que bien provecho.
