El vídeo promocional y los niños de Canticum Merú [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share another day in my life with you. This time, I want to tell you a little about the preparations for the Music and Art Vacation Program that Bethania and I are organizing for August 3. Since the start date is fast approaching, we needed to record a video to promote our event. It was a pretty lively morning, with the kids from the Canticum Merú “Voces Blancas” choir and us trying to capture some interesting shots to make a great video. Join me in this post.
Bethania is a teacher and musician; she’s been teaching for several years now, and well, as far as music goes, it’s something she’s been doing since she was a child (and she’s really good at it). In fact, she’s my mezzo-soprano section leader. That says it all. As for me, my teaching experience is still quite limited, but I make up for it with my enthusiasm for teaching, my love for my students, and, well, by trying to give it my all. So we teamed up to make a video that would be fun, cheerful, and reach everyone in Ciudad Guayana. We had several ideas at first, but we ended up filming multiple takes that would work to capture the essence of the video. It was important to mention the date, the children’s ages, and, of course, what we offer.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar un poco sobre los preparativos para el Plan Vacacional Música y Arte que Bethania y yo estamos preparando para este 3 de agosto. Dado a que ya estamos bastante cerca de la fecha de inicio, debíamos grabar un vídeo para poder promocionar nuestra actividad. Fue una mañana bastante dinámica, entre los niños del coro de Voces Blancas de Canticum Merú y nosotras, intentando grabar algunas tomas interesantes para hacer un video genial. Bethania es profesora y músico, tiene ya varios años dando clases y bueno, con respecto a la música es algo que ha hecho desde niña (y realmente es muy buena). De hecho, ella es mi jefa de cuerdas de mezzosoprano. Eso lo dice todo. Por mi parte, mi experiencia dando clases es aún muy corta, pero lo compenso con mis ganas de dar clases, mi amor a mis estudiantes y bueno, tratar de dar lo mejor de mi misma. Así que nos unimos para hacer un vídeo que fuera divertido, alegre y que pudiera a llegar a todas las personas de Ciudad Guayana. Inicialmente habían varias ideas, pero terminamos haciendo varias tomas que podían servir para cumplir con las características de ese vídeo. Era importante mencionar la fecha, la edad de los niños y por supuesto, que ofrecemos.
On Saturdays, the kids have choir practice, so there they were singing, and we took the opportunity to record a little. Then it occurred to us that they themselves should be the stars of that video, so that’s what we did—we decided to let them be themselves spontaneously, playing, playing instruments, or just being themselves. I think it all turned out really nice—and then some. I love working with kids because they’re so full of life and bring out the best in you: patience, joy, understanding, and affection. After we finished our work, I headed home to rest a bit before diving right into my household chores. I really needed this weekend. And without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
Los días sábados los niños tienen ensayo de canto coral, así que ahí estaban los niños cantando y aprovechamos para grabar un poco. Luego se nos ocurrió que fueran ellos mismos los protagonistas de ese vídeo y así hicimos, eligiendo que ellos se mostrarán de forma espontánea, jugando, tocando los instrumentos o simplemente siendo ellos mismos. Creo que todo quedó bastante bonito y más. A mí me gusta trabajar con los niños porque son muy ocurrentes y sacan lo mejor de uno: paciencia, alegría, compresión y cariño. Luego de terminar nuestra tarea, partí a casa para poder descansar un poco antes de ponerme de lleno a atender las labores del hogar. Necesitaba el fin de semana.
