Canticum Merú en la Parroquia Nuestra señora del Carmen 🇻🇪 [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today, I’m joining you to share another day in my life. This time, I’m sharing our participation in the Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in San Félix. Our choir performed to lend our voices in support of a Mass dedicated to all the people and animals who lost their lives during the tragedy of July 24th. Here is a little bit about that experience.
As I mentioned previously, our choir has begun working on a sacred repertoire—the music we use for Masses—selecting specific songs based on the Mass's particular intention. Starting our lives over after that tragedy has marked a new chapter for all of us. Everything is still so fresh; yet, I find myself feeling a bit guilty at times for enjoying certain moments and finding happiness in my life—as if I were experiencing something that others can no longer have. It makes me reflect on so many things, such as the fact that we were never prepared for something like this, nor did we know what to do in its aftermath. It raises questions like: What do we do? Should we move forward? Is it okay to feel joy after this? And so much more.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les traigo lo que fue nuestra participación en la misa en la Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen en San Félix. El coro se presentó para prestar sus servicios en favor de usar nuestras voces para brindar apoyo en la misa que fue dedicada a todas las personas y animalitos que fallecieron durante la tragedia del 24 de julio. Aquí les cuento un poco sobre ello.
Cómo les había comentando en días anteriores, en el coro comenzamos a trabajar con el repertorio sacro que es el que usamos en misas y dependiendo de la intención de esa misa, se colocan ciertas canciones. Ha Sido una nueva etapa para todos, comenzar nuestras vidas luego de esa tragedia. Todo está muy reciente todavía y sin embargo, me atrevo a decir que a veces me siento un poco culpable por disfrutar de ciertos momentos y alegrías de mi vida. Cómo si estuviera viviendo algo que otros no podrán tener más. Y eso me pone a reflexionar tantas cosas, cómo el hecho de que nunca estuvimos preparados para algo así y tampoco que hacer luego de ello. Es algo cómo ¿que hacemos?, ¿debemos seguir adelante?, ¿estará bien sentir alegría después de esto? y muchas cosas más.
Faced with all of this, I have simply decided to move forward and try to do the best I can. Along those same lines, I think about my role as a teacher. The children know something serious happened; they have heard the news and were frightened when they experienced it, yet they do not fully grasp the impact it had on our country—at least not completely. Nevertheless, I would be doing a disservice if I adopted a fatalistic or pessimistic attitude. Now more than ever, they need the comfort found in a pleasant conversation, a genuine smile, playing with friends, and the support of their loved ones and the adults around them. I also believe that everyone else in our country deserves for us to pick ourselves up and find the strength and joy to carry on. It was a good day, and we are taking it one step at a time. Ante todo eso simplemente he tomado la decisión de seguir adelante y tratar de hacer las cosas lo mejor que yo pueda. Y en esa misma linea de ideas, pienso por ejemplo en mi rol cómo docente. Los niños saben que paso algo grave, han escuchado las noticias y se asustaron cuando lo vivieron, sin embargo, no alcanzan a entender el impacto que eso tuvo en nuestro país. Al menos no del todo. Sin embargo, estaría haciendo mal si sostengo una actitud fatalista y pesimista. Ellos ahora más que nunca necesitan del bienestar que ofrece una grata conversación, una buena sonrisa, el juego entre amigos y del acompañamiento de sus seres queridos y mayores. Así también creo que las demás personas en nuestro país merecen que nos levantemos, busquemos fuerzas y alegría para seguir. Fue un buen día y vamos un paso a la vez.
