5 Movie Scenes where the Piano was the protagonist 🎹 [ENG/ESP]
Undoubtedly, there are a large number of films in the cinema that use an object as a main resource, in this case, the piano. That noble instrument that has given its viewers not only unforgettable melodies but also memorable scenes in the history of cinema. So today I will dedicate this space to remember five films where the piano was the protagonist. Taking into consideration how this instrument made a particular scene significantly better. I make a warning for possible spoiler.
Sin duda alguna, en el cine existen una gran cantidad de películas que utilizan como recurso principal un objeto, en este caso, el piano. Ese instrumento tan noble que ha brindado a sus espectadores no solo melodías inolvidables sino escenas memorables en la historia del cine. Así que hoy dedicaré este espacio para recordar cinco películas donde el piano fue el protagonista. Tomando en consideración como este instrumento hizo significativamente mejor una escena en particular. Hago una advertencia por posible spoiler.
Le Silence de la Mer (2004)

Few films are as sublime in their treatment of drama and romance as this one. Set in France in the midst of World War II, a piano teacher's tranquility is interrupted when she must take in a German officer. She decides never to play the piano again during her stay. But without a word having been spoken, love grows between them even though they are on opposite sides. The scene that brings her into this countdown is when Jean (the piano teacher) first plays the piano (Prelude & Fugue in C minor/ J.S. Bach) to attract the attention of Officer Werner and prevent him from entering the car bomb that the French resistance has prepared for him. It is mesmerizing to see how each note seems to speak for her, almost as if screaming for her to stay by his side.

La escena que la trae en este conteo es cuando Jean (la maestra de piano) toca por primera vez el piano (Prelude & Fugue in C minor/ J.S. Bach) para atraer la atención del oficial Werner y evitar que entre al coche bomba que le han preparado la resistencia francesa. Es hipnotizante ver cómo cada nota parece hablar por ella, casi como gritando que permanezca a su lado.

Based on the true story of David Helfgott, a virtuoso pianist, tells the story of how this due to the pressures of his father (for having to be a great musician) and academic life, ends up suffering a strong emotional crisis that leads to a disabling mental disorder. The climax scene of the film is when after long hours of study, David must appear at the academy concert to play Sergei Rachmaninoff's Flight of the Muscardine. A challenge he must meet. He manages to finish the piece magnificently, but not before collapsing to the floor, faint. It is even impressive to know that some of the pieces played in the film are played by the actor Geoffrey Rush, who plays David.

Es impresionante incluso saber que algunas de las piezas que se tocan en la película son tocadas por el actor Geoffrey Rush, quién interpreta a David.

An outstanding film that is hard to forget, even if it is not faithfully adapted to the lives of composers Mozart and Salieri. A rivalry that in the film creates an interesting contrast. The scene that brings it here is when Salieri writes for Mozart a welcome piece and the latter, in a comic tone, interprets and adds some improvements to the piece. Causing Salieri's discontent and the admiration of those present. It seems irrelevant but it is one of the moments where the tone of the film is light and cheerful but where Salieri sets out to destroy Mozart.

Una película sobresaliente que es difícil de olvidar, aunque no esté fielmente adaptada a la vida de los compositores Mozart y Salieri. Una rivalidad que en la película crea un contraste interesante. La escena que lo trae acá es cuando Salieri escribe para Mozart una pieza de bienvenida y este último, en un tono cómico, interpreta y agrega algunas mejoras a la pieza. Causando el descontento de Salieri y la admiración de los presentes. Parece irrelevante pero es uno de los momentos donde el tono de la película es ligero y alegre pero dónde Salieri se plantea destruir a Mozart.

Bergamn has always brought us films with difficult plots to solve. Autumn Sonata brings us the story of Charlotte, a successful pianist who after the death of a close friend is invited by her daughter Eva to spend a few days at her home. They have not seen each other in seven years and their relationship is hostile. The situation comes to a climax when Charlotte demands that Eva play Chopin's Prelude 2. Eva, not being as virtuous as her mother, painfully recalls moments in her childhood when she was denigrated by her mother. It is a touching scene to see Eva painfully sliding her hands on the piano as if she wanted to get away from there with all her strength.

Bergamn siempre ha traído películas con tramas difíciles de resolver. Sonata de Otoño nos trae la historia de Charlotte, una pianista exitosa que luego de la muerte de un amigo cercano es invitada por su hija Eva a pesar unos días en su hogar. No se han visto en siete años y la relación de ambas es hostil. La situación entra en clímax cuando Charlotte exige a Eva tocar el Preludio 2 de Chopin. Esta al no ser tan virtuosa cómo su madre recuerda con dolor momentos de su infancia dónde ella la denigraba. Es una escena que conmueve al ver a una Eva que penosamente desliza sus manos sobre el piano como queriendo alejarse con todas sus fuerzas de allí.

Without a doubt I could not fail to mention in this count the mother of all scenes. Although I know many know the context of the film, I can't fail to mention the fact that being set in the middle of World War II, the situation that arises between German Captain Wilm Hosenfeld and Władysław Szpilman (the Jewish pianist) in what for me is the most touching scene, that of opposing sides is set aside. In an attempt to save his life a weak Władysław plays Chopin with the piece Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor. He manages to have his life spared and also to keep a record of one of the best scenes in cinema.

Sin duda alguna no podía dejar de mencionar en este conteo a la madre de todas las escenas. Aunque sé que muchos conocen el contexto de la película, no puedo dejar de mencionar el hecho de que al estar ambientada en plena II Guerra Mundial, la situación que se presenta entre el capitán alemán Wilm Hosenfeld y Władysław Szpilman (el pianista judío) en lo que para mí es la escena más conmovedora, aquello de los bandos opuestos queda de lado. En un intento por salvar su vida un débil Władysław interpreta a Chopin con la pieza Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor. Logra que perdonen su vida y también guardar registro de una de las mejores escenas del cine.

One of the best productions in my opinion is The Pianist, a very strong message and a desire for peace and latent life. Each of the scenes are configured as a masterpiece for me, that is my opinion about it. The interpretation he made of Chopin, reaches, reaches the soul at that moment where life possibly ends.
In short, it is one of the films I like the most.

De todas estas películas solo vi el pianista recientemente, una gran película aleccionadora donde en medio del caos de la guerra y el holocausto Nazi, la música formó parte importante para la salvación de nuestro protagonista.
