4ta jornada del Plan Vacacional Música y Arte 🎨🎹💜 [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share with you another day in my life. This time, I want to tell you about the fourth day of the Music and Art Vacation Program at the Canticum Merú Academy. On Thursday—the children’s second-to-last day in the program—the group was split into two so that the older kids could work with Teacher Bethania on musical notes, their corresponding colors, and some songs that the children sang throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the younger children attended a painting class where, having already learned about primary and secondary colors (we covered that on Tuesday), we began working with color gradients to create highlights, achieve more saturated colors, and step outside their comfort zone of painting only with similar colors on the color wheel. We didn’t work specifically on shadows, as the exercise was intended to help the children control their pencil pressure and explore color and its possibilities. The children enjoyed it.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar cómo fue la 4ta jornada del Plan Vacacional Música y Arte en la Academia de Canticum Merú. Para el día jueves, siendo el penúltimo día de los niños en el plan vacacional, se dividió el grupo en dos para que los más grandes pudieran trabajar con la profesora Bethania al ritmo de las notas musicales, la asociación con el color de las mismas y algunas canciones que los niños recordaron durante todo el día.
Por otra parte, los más pequeños vieron una clase de pintura dónde ya sabiendo los colores primarios y secundarios (lo vimos el día martes), comenzamos a trabajar con el degradado de color para crear luces, tener colores más saturados y salir de la zona de confort de pintar solo con colores similares en el círculo cromático. No se trabajo propiamente con sombras pues el ejercicio tenía la intención de controlar la presión del lápiz, conocer el color y sus posibilidades. A los niños les gustó.
We also held a workshop to explore the wonders of printmaking. This is one of my favorite mediums to work with, and one of my regular students at the school is on vacation—and, coincidentally, she also loves printmaking. We worked with recycled materials, such as cardboard, anime-themed items, and pens without tips. The exception was painting. So we started working with some stamps I’d prepared beforehand, and for those who wanted to, I provided anime-themed images to trace and stamp onto colored cardstock. This is something that sometimes requires a bit of time and patience, but since it’s a first introduction to the medium, it plants a seed that will grow.
As noon approached, we took the opportunity for the children to finish painting some piano pieces they had made on Tuesday. Today was a wonderful day, and we’re already ready for tomorrow to wrap up this great week. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
También, tomamos un bloque para conocer las maravillas del grabado. Este último es de mis casa favoritas para trabajar y una de mis estudiantes regulares del colegio está en el plan vacacional y coincidencialmente ella también ama el grabado. Se trabajo con material reciclado, cartón, como el anime y bolígrafos sin punta. La excepción fue la pintura. Así que comenzamos a trabajar con unos sellos que yo ya había alistando previamente y aquellos que lo deseaban, se les ofreció anime para grabarlo y estampar sobre cartulina de colores. Esto es algo que a veces requiere un poco de tiempo y paciencia, pero que siendo un primer acercamiento al mismo, se queda una semilla sembrada allí.
Casi llegando al mediodía, se aprovechó para que los niños terminara de pintar unas piezas del piano que ellos habían hecho en el día martes. Hoy fue un día muy bonito y ya estamos listos para el día de mañana, para culminar esta gran semana. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
