Este año 2023 volveré a ser parte de los carnavales como Corista de `"La Unión del Calipso"` un grupo de calipso de mi Tierra Soñada como le llaman a mi pueblito❣ Desde el primer instante que me hicieron la propuesta el 30 de Diciembre de 2022 no dudé en aceptar, porque he querido tener esa confianza con la música como cantante y vivir nuevas experiencias a través de ella, además que es algo que me gusta mucho y que mejor que hacer lo que nos gusta.

Canciones de Calipso completas y variadas NO me sabía siempre escuchaba las mismas "incompletas",UN PUNTO EN MI CONTRA, debía escuchar muy minuciosamente canciones para aprenderme algunas(pensé).

Después de ese 30 de diciembre pasaron 3 semanas de enero y ya imaginaba que la petición de formar parte del grupo no iba porque no me habían dicho nada para ensayar o para que escuchara el repertorio que tenían pensado montar porque Carnavales estaba a la vuelta de la esquina. La última semana faltando 2 días para finalizar el mes de enero salgo a comprar unas cosas y me encuentro con el muchacho que me había ofrecido la oportunidad, además, como habíamos cantado juntos en renglones diferentes en festivales de la universidad (una historia que les contaré más adelante) ya conocía qué cantaba, imagino que fue por eso que pensó en mí.

Ese momento que nos encontramos me dijo que el día siguiente tendríamos ensayo, pero ya va...¿cuáles son las canciones? Me dije a mi misma, más no le dije que me pasara algun tema que tenía pensado 😂 quizá fue la emoción 🤯😂 sólo pregunté la hora y dije que contara conmigo👀.

Al siguiente día estaba allí, a eso de las 5 de la tarde con las manos frías pero tranquila al mismo tiempo, ya eran 3 años que no tomaba un micrófono para cantar pero, un momento y las canciones?... Bueno en ese primer ensayo me senté a escucharlos y mirar como cantaban para aprenderme las canciones y no me aprendí nada. Luego que terminaron el ensayo pedí que me enviaran las canciones que habian decidido montar para que el siguiente pudieramos escuchar que tal sonaba con mi voz.

After that December 30, 3 weeks of January passed and I already imagined that the request to be part of the group did not go because they had not told me anything to rehearse or to listen to the repertoire they had planned to assemble because Carnival was just around the corner. The last week, two days before the end of January, I went out to buy some things and I met the boy who had offered me the opportunity, besides, as we had sung together in different lines in university festivals (a story that I will tell you later) I already knew what he sang, I guess that was why he thought of me.

That moment we met he told me that the next day we would have a rehearsal, but what are the songs? I said to myself, but I didn't tell him to pass me any song he had in mind 😂 maybe it was the emotion 🤯😂 I just asked the time and said he could count on me👀.

The next day I was there, around 5 pm with cold hands but calm at the same time, it was already 3 years that I didn't take a microphone to sing but, wait a minute and the songs?..... Well, in that first rehearsal I sat down to listen to them and watch how they sang to learn the songs and I didn't learn anything. After they finished the rehearsal I asked them to send me the songs they had decided to do so that the next rehearsal we could hear how they sounded with my voice.
El segundo ensayo 🌟

El miércoles 15 por primera vez coree calipso, no saben como me sentí, eran muchas emociones porque estaba haciendo lo que me gusta, la percusión sonaba muy linda, y aunque habían tonos los cuales no tomaba rápido lo intentaba y salía mejor, NO me juzgaba era mi primera vez y me encantó.

On Wednesday 15th for the first time I choreographed calypso, you do not know how I felt, there were many emotions because I was doing what I like, the percussion sounded very nice, and although there were tones which I did not take fast I tried and it came out better, I did NOT judge myself, it was my first time and I loved it.

Al día siguiente volvimos a ensayar y todo salió mejor, estábamos haciendo un popurrí de al rededor 10 canciones de calipso, del cual buscamos cubrir 30 minutos de presentación porque nuestra presentación es en tarima. Por suerte, he estado en tarima en muchas oportunidades y eso me ha hecho perder el miedo escénico sin embargo siempre existe el temor porque " en vivo cualquier cosa suele pasar " y después de tantos años sin cantar existe un poco de miedo.

The next day we rehearsed again and everything went better, we were doing a medley of about 10 calypso songs, of which we tried to cover 30 minutes of presentation because our presentation is on stage. Luckily, I have been on stage many times and that has made me lose stage fright, however there is always fear because "anything happens live" and after so many years without singing there is a little fear.

Lo que me preocupaba un poco en esa práctica era que faltaban 5 días para la presentación y aún habían 4 canciones que necesitába aprenderme por tanto decidimos ensayar el vocalista principal y yo, él me dijo cuales serían las canciones, las partes donde entraba y los tonos en un ensayo que tuvimos.

Para que se me hiciera más fácil a punté las letras de los temas para el próximo ensayo que fue hoy.

What worried me a little in that practice was that it was 5 days before the presentation and there were still 4 songs that I needed to learn so we decided to rehearse the lead singer and I, he told me what would be the songs, the parts where he entered and the tones in a rehearsal we had.

To make it easier for me I wrote the lyrics for the next rehearsal which was today.

Finalmente hicimos ayer el último ensayo completo con todos los temas😍, quisiera poder subir un video para que escuchen, pero la mala conexión a la internet es una limitante por el momento. Hoy en la noche es la presentación en tarima, me da un poco de nervios pero al mismo tiempo tengo la confianza que saldrá muy bien.
No saben lo orgullosa que me siento de mí, lo que hago lo hago con pasión porque amo la música.

Finally we did yesterday the last full rehearsal with all the songs😍, I would like to upload a video for you to listen to, but the bad internet connection is a limitation for the moment. Tonight is the presentation on stage, I'm a little nervous but at the same time I'm confident that it will go very well.
You don't know how proud I am of myself, what I do I do with passion because I love music.
