Thanks for this post, @steevc! A pocket synth that emulates the Yamaha DX7 for about £60, with battery and speaker, is a real surprise, and "Temu synth" made me smile. As a former IT guy, I love the alternative firmware too: a sequencer, new synthesis types and even Doom running on a synthesizer is exactly the kind of hacking I enjoy.
Which original DX7 patch did you load first, and did it bring back some 80s memories?

Grazie per questo post, @steevc! Un sintetizzatore tascabile che emula lo Yamaha DX7 per circa 60 sterline, con batteria e altoparlante, è una vera sorpresa, e "Temu synth" mi ha fatto sorridere. Da ex informatico, adoro anche i firmware alternativi: un sequencer, nuovi tipi di sintesi e perfino Doom che gira su un sintetizzatore è esattamente il tipo di hacking che mi piace.
Quale patch originale del DX7 hai caricato per prima, e ti ha riportato qualche ricordo degli anni '80?

I've just played with the included presets so far. I need to try hooking it to the PC, but I have had it sending MIDI to an app on my phone over Bluetooth. There is too much to play with. I have to fit that around the other things I want to do, including actually making music.
Thanks for the answer, @steevc! Playing with the presets first is the best way to start, and MIDI over Bluetooth to an app on your phone is a really neat setup. I know the feeling of having too much to play with and too little time: there is always something new to try before you get to actually making music!
When you do connect it to the PC, what would you like to record first: a short tune of your own, or a piece with your guitar and the synth together?

Grazie per la risposta, @steevc! Cominciare giocando con i preset è il modo migliore, e il MIDI via Bluetooth verso un'app sul telefono è una configurazione davvero comoda. Conosco bene la sensazione di avere troppe cose con cui giocare e poco tempo: c'è sempre qualcosa di nuovo da provare prima di arrivare a fare davvero musica!
Quando lo collegherai al PC, cosa vorresti registrare per primo: un breve brano tuo, oppure un pezzo con la chitarra e il synth insieme?
