The guitar solo [Esp-Eng]
Admito que lo primero que vino a mi mente cuando pensé en el tema principal de esta publicación, fue la imagen de ese pequeño niño que al escuchar el sonido de una guitarra a través de una canción, corría a buscar el palo de la escoba y empezaba a darle como si fuera una guitarra de verdad. Sin conocimiento ni idea de lo que hacía, pero con la inocencia y la actitud para disfrutar del momento a través de buena música. Estoy seguro que a muchos les pasó como a mí, quienes siendo tan niños ya podían sentir y vivir ese efecto especial que la guitarra le imprime a las canciones.
Siempre he declarado mi gusto por el piano, pero admiro la belleza que se puede traer a través de la guitarra. Cuando pienso en esas canciones favoritas donde la guitarra toma protagonismo, me doy cuenta que son más especiales de lo que creía, y que a pesar del tiempo y sus múltiples interpretaciones, hay temas que simplemente no tienen comparación. El solo de una guitarra deja dos cosas en evidencia, dos elementos que se compaginan para dar vida a la excelencia musical. Aunque son muchos los intérpretes y las bandas de los cuales he disfrutado la presencia de una guitarra, en esta oportunidad mencionaré tres que para mí ocupan un top muy especial.
I admit that the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of the main theme of this publication, was the image of that little boy who upon hearing the sound of a guitar through a song, ran to get the broomstick and began to hit it as if it were a real guitar. Without knowledge or idea of what he was doing, but with the innocence and attitude to enjoy the moment through good music. I am sure that it happened to many of you like it did to me, who being so young could already feel and live that special effect that the guitar gives to the songs.
I have always declared my love for the piano, but I admire the beauty that can be brought through the guitar. When I think of those favorite songs where the guitar takes center stage, I realize that they are more special than I thought, and that despite time and multiple interpretations, there are songs that simply have no comparison. The solo of a guitar leaves two things in evidence, two elements that combine to give life to musical excellence. Although there are many performers and bands of which I have enjoyed the presence of a guitar, in this opportunity I will mention three that for me occupy a very special top.
Why lovers why (Century)
De las pioneras en mi lista con respecto al tema del cual les estoy hablando. Y es que ya siendo muy niño mi curiosidad por la música en inglés era bastante grande. Cada vez que escuchaba en la canción "Why lovers why", enseguida le preguntaba a uno de mis tíos que sabía inglés cual era el significado de esa frase. Fue con esta canción con la que aprendí mi primera frase en inglés, "I need you", y aunque no sabía absolutamente más nada de la letra musical, no dejaba de tararear la canción con mucha emoción. El solo de la guitarra es espectacular, con una intensidad que te permite seguir el ritmo con mucho sentimiento.

One of the pioneers in my list regarding the subject I'm talking about. As a child, my curiosity for music in English was quite big. Every time I heard the song "Why lovers why", I immediately asked one of my uncles who knew English what was the meaning of that phrase. It was with this song that I learned my first English phrase, "I need you", and although I knew absolutely nothing more about the lyrics, I kept humming the song with great emotion. The guitar solo is spectacular, with an intensity that allows you to follow the rhythm with a lot of feeling.

Y si hablamos de intensidad, ¿Qué les parece este tema? Muchos quizás me dirán que porque estoy hablando de esta canción y no de "It's my life" o "bed of roses", pero el solo de la guitarra me atrae como si se tratara de algún imán o una fuerza especial de la cual difícilmente te puedes zafar con facilidad. Obviamente los otros instrumentos musicales hacen su parte de calidad, pero la entrada del solo de la guitarra en esta canción es demasiado buena. Tal vez no sea la más larga y extendida de la que se pueda escuchar, pero aún así no deja de ser de las mejores sin lugar a dudas.

And if we talk about intensity, what do you think about this song? Many will probably tell me why I'm talking about this song and not about "It's my life" or "bed of roses", but the guitar solo attracts me as if it were a magnet or a special force that you can hardly get rid of easily. Obviously the other musical instruments do their share of quality, but the entrance of the guitar solo in this song is too good. It may not be the longest and most extended song you can listen to, but it is still one of the best without a doubt.

Por favor, de pie para rendir un caluroso aplauso a un verdadero clásico de la música. Una canción que tal como el vino parece ponerse mejor con el paso de los años. A mi gusto, el mejor solo de guitarra que he podido escuchar en una canción y que sencillamente jamás pasará de moda. Recuerdo que en mis tiempos había un sinfín de teorías con respecto a la letra de la música, incluso algunos afirmando de que se trataba de algún rito extraño, y por momentos ni a mi madre ni a mis tíos les gustaba que yo tan niño escuchara esta canción. El tiempo echó por tierra cualquier crítica, y hoy Hotel California sigue brillando con luz propia, una luz que difícilmente se puede apagar.

Please stand to give a warm round of applause to a true music classic. A song that just like wine seems to get better with age. To my taste, the best guitar solo I have ever heard in a song and one that will simply never go out of style. I remember that in my time there were endless theories regarding the lyrics of the music, even some claiming that it was some strange rite, and at times neither my mother nor my uncles liked that I listened to this song as a child. Time has put to rest any criticism, and today Hotel California continues to shine with its own light, a light that can hardly be extinguished.
Al pensar en estos temas, percibo esa armonía que por algún tiempo le dió vida a muchos temas por excelencia, porque no solo se trataba de la letra o el ritmo en sí, sino también la calidad y el talento que muchos tenían para tocar la guitarra, el piano o la batería. No digo con esto que hoy no existan esa clase de artistas destacados y que sobresalen por su capacidad y habilidad para tocar un instrumento musical, pero siendo sinceros me siento dichoso y muy privilegiado de haber podido disfrutar de canciones como las que ya mencioné durante prácticamente toda mi vida.
A veces mi imaginación se pone mucho a volar y pienso en que, si tuviera hoy la oportunidad, ¿Cuál de estos temas me gustaría escuchar en un concierto? Y así mi mente sigue imaginando un escenario donde estas tres canciones suenan con mucha intensidad. El amor por la música es ese sentimiento que te permite disfrutar de una letra que quizás al principio no entiendes y de que sin saber tocar algún instrumento puedes valorar y reconocer el don y la habilidad que otros tienen. Es impresionante todo lo que puede salir de una bonita interpretación que se dibuja en las cuerdas musicales de una guitarra y que elevan nuestro sentido y aprecio por la buena música.
When I think of these songs, I perceive that harmony that for some time gave life to many songs par excellence, because it was not only about the lyrics or the rhythm itself, but also the quality and talent that many had to play the guitar, piano or drums. I am not saying with this that today there are not those kind of outstanding artists that stand out for their capacity and ability to play a musical instrument, but to be honest I feel happy and very privileged to have been able to enjoy songs like the ones I have already mentioned during practically all my life.
Sometimes my imagination runs wild and I think that, if I had the opportunity today, which of these songs would I like to listen to in a concert? And so my mind keeps imagining a scenario where these three songs sound with a lot of intensity. The love for music is that feeling that allows you to enjoy a lyric that perhaps at first you don't understand and that without knowing how to play an instrument you can appreciate and recognize the gift and ability that others have. It is amazing all that can come out of a beautiful interpretation that is drawn on the musical strings of a guitar and that elevate our sense and appreciation for good music.
