Difícilmente una canción puede encerrar o definir a plenitud lo que alguno de nosotros haya podido experimentar en su vida. Por muy corta o larga que sea, un tema de tan solo unos minutos no podría resumir grandes aspectos de nuestro existir. Aún así, ciertas canciones o géneros musicales dicen mucho en cuanto a lo que decimos y pensamos, de cómo vemos la vida y con cuál actitud la estamos afrontando. Hay temas que si emparejan perfectamente con situaciones específicas de nuestra vida, y estas a su vez se vinculan de una forma tan arraigada que en tan solo el breve inicio de una melodía podemos traer casi que de manera inmediatamente aquel pasado a nuestro presente a través de los recuerdos.
Creo que no hay una circunstancia o una vivencia de la cual no haya una canción en común. Muchas veces nos pasa, o en mi caso si lo es, que al escuchar una canción automáticamente me pregunto si dicho tema está basado en una historia real o simplemente aquello es el fruto de una maravillosa inspiración que encuentra su lugar en una letra musical. Escuchamos, pero también nos volveremos intérpretes de una historia que ajeno a la verdadera realidad también se expone a múltiples opciones que hasta llegamos a relacionar con nuestro propio punto de vista.
It is difficult for a song to contain or fully define what any of us may have experienced in our lives. However short or long it may be, a song of only a few minutes could not summarize great aspects of our existence. Even so, certain songs or musical genres say a lot about what we say and think, how we see life and with what attitude we are facing it. There are themes that do pair perfectly with specific situations in our lives, and these in turn are linked in such a deeply rooted way that in just the brief beginning of a melody we can almost immediately bring that past to our present through memories.
I believe that there is no circumstance or experience of which there is not a song in common. Many times it happens to us, or in my case it does, that when I listen to a song I automatically ask myself if that song is based on a true story or if it is simply the fruit of a wonderful inspiration that finds its place in a musical lyric. We listen, but we also become interpreters of a story that is also exposed to multiple options that we even relate to our own point of view.
Me causa mucha gracia cuando alguien define toda tu vida por el simple hecho de decir que te gusta cierto género musical. Si hablamos de baladas, eres un eterno enamorado. Si mencionas el vallenato ya eres un hombre de puro despecho y desamor, e incluso si demuestras interés y gusto por la música de otro idioma hasta te pueden ver como un extraño. Así me dijo una amiga que se sintió cuando la familia se enteró que, a diferencia de la mayoría, ella siente una bonita conexión por la música en inglés. No es que mi amiga tenga una personalidad rara, simplemente se trata de que nuestros gustos son tan amplios y únicos como la misma música.
Si un género musical define tus gustos pues está muy bien 🥰 pero no quiere decir que eso amolde toda tu vida. ¿Imaginas algún tema que encaje a la medida de una experiencia personal? De seguro que sí eres un amante de la música encontrarás no solo una sino muchas canciones que parecen traer una dedicatoria especial. ¿Un tema favorito? ¿Un cantante o grupo preferido? Probablemente eso sea el factor común que identifica a la gran mayoría de quienes disfrutamos de la música.
It makes me laugh when someone defines your whole life by the simple fact of saying that you like a certain genre of music. If we talk about ballads, you are an eternal lover. If you mention vallenato, you are a man of pure spite and heartbreak, and even if you show interest and taste for the music of another language, you can even be seen as a stranger. That's how a friend told me she felt when her family found out that, unlike most people, she feels a beautiful connection to music in English. It's not that my friend has a weird personality, it's simply that our tastes are as broad and unique as the music itself.
If a genre of music defines your tastes that's fine 🥰 but that doesn't mean it fits your whole life. Can you imagine a song that fits a personal experience? For sure if you are a music lover you will find not only one but many songs that seem to bring a special dedication. A favorite song? A favorite singer or band? That's probably the common factor that identifies the vast majority of us who enjoy music.
Hay canciones que mueven multitudes, ya sea por el ritmo o el mensaje que transmite a través de sus letras. Pero, si cada persona pudiera tener su propia canción ajustada a su propia experiencia, ¿Cuántas existirían? 😯🥰 Quizás por eso es que el acto de poder dedicar un tema a alguien más significa algo que sobrepasa lo especial, porque no se trata de una canción que se ajusta a tus gustos, sino de una canción que motivó a alguien más a pensar en ti y poder verte a través de una melodía especial. Sé que existen muchas maneras de expresar un sentimiento y un amor, pero pensar en alguien más a través de una canción es sin duda alguna uno de los más grandes gestos de aprecio y cariño que se pueda mostrar.
Siempre me ha maravillado la forma en cómo la música trasciende más allá que la vida misma, no solo marcando épocas sino también momentos que nunca más se podrán borrar. En ciertos casos no logramos conectar o coincidir con personas de ciertas generaciones, pero la música nos permite cruzar ese puente que nos lleva a percibir lo que muchos también sintieron gracias al poder que tiene la música. Ni hablar de aquellos géneros que hoy se mantienen vigentes a pesar de los años, siendo una fuente valiosa incluso para los que están dando sus primeros pasos dentro del ámbito musical.
There are songs that move crowds, either because of the rhythm or the message they convey through their lyrics. But, if each person could have their own song tailored to their own experience, how many would exist? 😯🥰 Maybe that's why the act of being able to dedicate a song to someone else means something beyond special, because it's not about a song that fits your tastes, but a song that motivated someone else to think of you and be able to see you through a special melody. I know there are many ways to express a feeling and love, but thinking of someone else through a song is without a doubt one of the greatest gestures of appreciation and affection that can be shown.
I have always marveled at how music transcends beyond life itself, not only marking epochs but also moments that can never be erased. In certain cases we are not able to connect or coincide with people of certain generations, but music allows us to cross that bridge that leads us to perceive what many also felt thanks to the power of music. Not to mention those genres that today remain valid despite the years, being a valuable source even for those who are taking their first steps in the musical field.
Menos mal que no se necesita una buena voz o un oído perfecto para poder saborear las mieles musicales. Más bien, parece ser un banquete a disposición de todas las personas. Tenemos una vida y un sinfín de momentos vividos y por vivir, tal como de igual forma tenemos mucho para atesorar y seguir sumando a lo que hoy podemos disfrutar gracias a la música. No hay emoción o sentimiento que escape de la misma, no hay historia o inspiración que se pueda librar de un gran tema musical. La vida en una canción es algo imposible, pero una canción puede ser esa luz en tu vida que te permita brillar desde tu propia personalidad.
Por eso, canta pensando más en tus sentimientos y menos en el poder de tu voz, disfruta la dulce mezcla que una letra y una melodía encierran con con amor y alegría, vive con la libertad de que en cada canción siempre habrá un espacio para plasmar un momento especial de tu vida. Realmente tenemos una vida, pero una canción puede sonar en tu corazón cuantas veces quieras, sin esperar por nada ni por nadie, ya que tú siempre tendrás esa llave para abrirle las puertas de tu corazón a un tema, a una canción, y a una música que jamás se apartará de tu vida.
Good thing you don't need a good voice or a perfect ear to be able to savor the musical delights. Rather, it seems to be a banquet available to everyone. We have a life and an endless number of moments lived and to live, just as we have much to treasure and continue adding to what we can enjoy today thanks to music. There is no emotion or feeling that escapes from it, there is no story or inspiration that can get rid of a great musical theme.
