The music industry has changed in recent years, now the era of singles, which had its first stage many years ago at the very beginning of the recording industry, has re-emerged; but if singles used to coexist with long plays, now, in many cases, they replace them.
I believe full-length albums have virtues that go beyond the singles and give them a special value, and in this section I share long plays or full-length albums, which from my particular tastes, I consider valuable as a whole, and not only as a collection of singles. They are albums that can be enjoyed from beginning to end, and that are more than the sum of their parts, I hope you enjoy them.
La industria de la música ha cambiado en los últimos años, ahora ha resurgido la época de los singles, que tuvo su primera etapa hace muchos años ya, en los inicios mismos de la industria discográfica; pero si antes los singles convivían con los long play, ahora, en muchos casos, los sustituyen.
Yo creo que los discos de larga duración tienen virtudes que van más allá de los sencillos y les dan un valor especial, y en esta sección comparto discos de larga duración, que a partir de mis gustos particulares, considero que son valiosos como un todo, y no solo como una colección de sencillos. Son discos que pueden disfrutarse de principio a fin, y que son más que la suma de sus partes, espero los disfruten.

I've been following Tool since their first album, and I've always been fascinated by how complex and elaborate their music is, sometimes conceptual, sometimes not, but always interesting and surprising. ~Fear Inoculum~ is their last album so far, and it turned out to be quite controversial because after a 13-year wait it wasn't what many of their fans were expecting.
The DNA of their sound is present, but it moves away a bit from progressive metal to go into more psychedelic territories. The rage of the guitar, bass and vocals are more dosed, and the drums are more noticeable because the album is more atmospheric than the previous ones. For those who are not familiar with the band, this is an excellent album to get started with their sound, and one of the albums I have listened to most recently.
Sigo a Tool desde su primer disco, y siempre me ha fascinado lo compleja y elaborada que es su música, a veces conceptual, a veces no, pero siempre interesante y sorprendente. ~Fear Inoculum~ es su último disco hasta el momento, y resultó bastante polémico porque no fue lo que muchos de sus fans esperaban.
El ADN de su sonido está presente, pero se aleja un poco del metal progresivo para adentrarse en territorios más sicodélicos. La rabia de la guitarra, el bajo y la voz están más dosificadas, y la batería se nota más porque el disco es más atmosférico que los anteriores. Para quienes no están familiarizados con la banda es un excelente disco para iniciarse en su sonido, y uno de los discos que más he escuchado recientemente.

Caifanes was, along with Soda Stereo, the first thing I heard in Spanish, during my early adolescence, that sounded like the music I liked to listen to in English. Their dark sound, and their different and deep lyrics, marked much of my style as a writer, and still do now, decades later.
This album marked the beginning of their successful career, one that after ups and downs in its members, and a separation of several years, is still alive, although now with only three of its original members. They may have better albums than this one, in which they added sounds of traditional Mexican and Latin American music to their formula, but this is still the album I listen to the most. This album is a piece of rock in spanish history, and was key in its development in Mexico and part of Latin America.
Caifanes fue, junto con Soda Stereo, lo primero que escuché en español, durante mi temprana adolescencia, que sonada a la música que me gustaba escuchar en inglés. Su sonido oscuro, y sus letras diferentes y profundas, marcaron mucho de mi estilo como escritor, y lo siguen haciendo ahora, décadas después.
Este disco marcó el inicio de su exitosa carrera, una que después de altas y bajas en sus integrantes, y una separación de varios años, sigue vive, aunque ahora solo con tres de sus miembros originales. Puede que tengan discos mejores que este, en que agregaron a su fórmula sonidos de la música tradicional mexicana y latinoamericana, pero este sigue siendo el disco de ellos que más escucho. Este disco es un pedazo de la historia del rock en español, y fue clave en s desarrollo en México y parte de latinoamerica.
