YouTube's algorithm suggested a track by this band, and what a surprise I got. It's a great funk band with influences of rock, latin jazz, blues, soul, and even a bit of afro-beat and hip hop.
This song lets us see only the potential of its male singer, but the female singer is easily at the same level. The musicians are excellent and their music, which mixes covers and original songs, is of great quality. This is one of those bands to see live, so if you have the opportunity don't let them pass you by.
El algoritmo de YouTube me sugirió un tema de esta banda, y vaya sorpresa la que me he llevado. Es una gran banda de funk con influencias de rock, jazz latino, blues, soul, y hasta un poco de afro-beat y hip hop.
Este tema nos deja ver solo el potencial de su cantante masculino, pero la cantante femenina está fácilmente a su mismo nivel. Los músicos son excelentes y su música, que mezcla covers y temas originales, de gran calidad. Esta es una de esas banda para ver en vivo, así que si tiene la oportunidad no la dejen pasar.
Sindicato del Ritmo & Café Tacvba - Eres
When I came across this video, in addition to liking it very much for its manufacture, I was surprised by how well and natural this Café Tacuvba song, which is pop music, sounds in such a Cuban arrangement, rich in instruments and sounds.
Sindicato del Ritmo' is a very interesting Cuban proposal, which has recently carried out collaborations with Mexican musicians to create reversions of their songs, with surprising and excellent results, and the proof is this song.
Cuando me topé con este video, además de gustarme mucho por su manufactura, me sorprendió lo bien y natural que se escucha este tema de Café Tacuvba, que es música pop, en un arreglo tan cubano y rico en instrumentos y sonidos.
'Sindicato del Ritmo' es una propuesta cubana muy interesante, que atinadamente ha realizado en fechas recientes colaboraciones con músicos mexicanos para reversionar temas de estos, con sorprendentes y excelentes resultados, y de prueba tienen esta canción.
Yonlapa - Cosmos Session
It never ceases to amaze me how much good music exists outside the West, and of which most of the time we know very little, Yonlapa is one of them, and it has been my first musical find of the year.
They are an independent band composed of 4 members, who released their first material in 2009. Originally from Thailand, they perform their music in English, and are gaining popularity in Asia with their indie-pop sound. In this session they perform 5 excellent songs that exemplify very well their proposal.
Nunca deja de sorprenderme la cantidad de buena música que existe fuera de occidente, y de la que la mayoría de las veces sabemos muy poco, Yonlapa es una de ellas, y ha sido mi primer hallazgo musical del año.
Son una banda independiente compuesta 4 integrantes, que lanzó su primer material en el 2009. Originarios de Tailandia, interpretan su música en inglés, y están ganando popularidad en Asia con su sonido indie-pop. En esta sesión interpretan 5 excelentes temas que ejemplifican muy bien su propuesta.
Manu Chao - Me gustas tu
Manu Chao, and his previous band, 'Mano Negra', are two musical proposals that have been eternally on my list of pending to know more in depth, hopefully in this beginning of the year I can dedicate a few hours to it.
His most mediatic song so far has been 'Me gustas tu', which in this video we can enjoy in a more energetic extended version than in its studio version, and which proves once again that Manu Chao, and his peculiar style, which we could define as gypsy, is one of those artists that is always better to enjoy live.
Manu Chao, y su banda previa, Mano Negra, son dos propuesta musicales que han estado eternamente en mi lista de pendientes por conocer más a fondo, ojalá en este inicio de año pueda dedicar unas horas a ello.
Su tema más mediático hasta el momento, ha sido 'Me gustas tu', que en este video podemos disfrutar en una versión extendida más energética que en su versión de estudio, y que prueba una vez más, que Manu Chao, y su peculiar estilo, que podríamos definir como gitano, es de esos artistas que siempre es mejor disfrutar en vivo.
