The Headless Black Dog

My wife and I are two different people in many ways, but we get along very well, as evidenced by the 47 years we've been married. You're probably wondering why the hell I'm telling you this now.

I just wanted to be the introduction to today's story...

My wife doesn't like looking at people when she's on the street, which often puts her in awkward and not always pleasant-situations.

I, on the other hand, love to see how people behave and I like to try to guess something about them, just by their appearance, how they dress, and, especially, how they behave and interact with others.

When we're on vacation I like to sit on a bench, somewhere off to the side, and watch people who are also tourists, like me, walking by the sea.

I like to photograph as much as possible and I try not to be noticed in order not to spoil the naturalness of the subjects.

It's winter now and I'm staying indoors more, and my greatest pleasure is looking through my vacation photos. That's how I came up with the photos below, which I found good for a color-to-black-and-white conversion.

Children are wonderful, in general, but also as subjects to photograph. Their way of behaving without being influenced by upbringing and social constraints, their naturalness, and their lack of fear of ridicule make them role models not only for film and photography but also for us adults!

Charlie Chaplin was asked what the surefire recipe for a good movie was and he replied:
"Put a child in a basin of water and give him a bar of soap, and you'll get the best comedy movie."

Speed!

A little girl on the promenade in Balchik looking at the sea (the Black Sea) which in my photo appears to be a huge cinema screen.
I was instantly drawn to this image and continued to watch this child torn between the curiosity of seeing how the sky merges with the sea and the pleasure of running with her little tricycle.

Kids like speed, and I hope it shows in these photos. I see happiness on the little girl's face.

That's what happens when it's just a tricycle for two. Here you can see that this situation doesn't impact the boy but I can tell you that it was not like that until the end (but I can't prove it with pictures)

The Headless Black Dog

The next people to enter my area of interest were a group, probably a family, with a black dog. I wanted to take a series of photos of them passing in front of me.

I ruined the last photo because I cut off the dog's head... but I found a title for my story today.

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

I regret that I didn't have the idea to put a black-and-white video in these #monomad posts. The film is made from a series of photos...
I like black-and-white music videos and I think they are a place where we can learn about black and white photography.

Because I saw this habit of using videos from @ewkaw, I thank her for the inspiration and apologize for not asking permission to do the same.

I've been looking for a video clip related to today's blog title... and that I like, of course. I hope you like this Led Zeppelin cover!

I rely mostly on photos in all my blogs. Words don't help me as much as photos.

I make this statement as a plea to those reading not to over-judge the text and to focus on the photos. The story puts everything in context and provides the explanations and clarifications necessary for the blog to convey something of interest to the reader.

Since we all love photography, let’s explore the captivating details captured in these photos.!

A wise saying goes that a photograph is worth a thousand words, but I don't think so.

It depends on the viewer.

Brilliant title.
I come to read till the end because of the gory title ! 🤣

My curiosity was unstoppable:
"Did he really photograph a dog with a severed head? What horrendous accident led to that poor dog losing his head!? 😱 Am I going to see a photo of a dog's body, perhaps with blood still dripping from his neck, maybe with the head on the ground nearby? How sick! 🤢"

... 🤣

I have long known that the title is important.
I keep trying to comply with this recommendation but to no avail.
It's the first time I have received such positive feedback confirming that the title is good this time, especially as I found a song to match.
Thanks!

Thank you very much!
I love to listen to music and I've tried many times to supplement blogs with some music but I have the feeling that it's not well received or, anyway, it's ignored.

Similar people live a good life together with each other who are opposites and then learn a lot from each other in this way so life becomes easier.

47 years of marriage.... congratulations! From the bottom of my heart!

I also like to look at people when I walk... not always but there are interesting things to see.

The pictures of the little girl... they are beautiful and the ones of the dog, I got caught in the shadows, I don't know why but they caught my attention! Thank you!

That's the beauty of Hive, you find inspiration in so many places... and well, if you were inspired by ewkaw, I don't think he'll be upset, quite the contrary.
I like Beth Hart a lot. And about how you got the title for this post, I think it's just great.

;)

That's right, I've been inspired many times by colleagues from Hive, you can find many very good ideas, but I try not to copy, I think that if someone has something special in the blog (like @galenkp and the quotes) it should stay only to him. About the video clips that @ewkaw put, I couldn't help myself and fortunately, she didn't get upset, she even encouraged me, as a true music lover does.

Beth is a great blues singer. She's been coming to Romania every year for about three years to a blues festival in a small town in the mountains. It's not far from where I live but I didn't manage to go to see her.

SI know how important is the title of a blog, I try a lot without much success, until now when I succeeded and I have several opinions that confirm this, thanks to you too, @nanixxx!
