Good evening three tune tuesday heads. I did not post in this community in a few weeks and I still have to get around to the HBI for the last couple of weeks but it is on my list and will be done. IYesterday I droned on Movies and TV Shows about a film I watched called Saltburn which is based in 2006. I was 24 in 2006 and at the height of my living life to the fullest. So when I watched Saltburn I was really enamored over the music they played throughout the film. It was the music I was into such as the Killers , Block Party and a few dancy tunes like Happiness and Mason - Exceeder. I was amazed how all these songs fit into the film perfectly which made it one of the best films for 2023 for me. The film brought me back to my time living in a little affluent town in Ireland called Naas where I began my young professional life living with my best friend and having a whirl of a time. I look back on that time as magical. On crazy thing happened when I lived in Naas. I collected my friend Brendan from work and we were on the main street of Naas stuck in traffic. Myself and Brendan as is every 20 something year old were musical snobs and the music we listened to was the best. We were going through a musical renaissance at the time having watched the Beatles Anthology twice over a weekend and 3 crates of Heineken. So having listened to everything the Beatles had produced we moved onto the band's favourite band at the time which were the Rolling Stones who arguably had better musicians , a better front man in Jagger and an edgier sound. Anyway we had the Rolling Stones CD on repeat in the car and stopped at traffic outside the 5 lamps in Naas opposite a place called the Courthouse. Gimme Shelter had just started while two men passed by the passenger window and gave us the thumbs up. It was none other than Mick Jagger and Ronny Wood. I kid you not. What are the chances of that ever happening. It was like a genie in a lamp. I learned that week that Ronny Wood lived just outside Naas and he often frequented the local establishments in Naas which was news to me. There is an old pub called Fletchers in Naas where the owner is very conservative. My wife (girlfriend at the time) used to drink pints of budweiser. Yep we all have our problems. But when I went up and ordered two pints , a pint and a small glass was given out. I queried the barman who was the owner. And he said the women aren't allowed have pints in his pub. Fair enough so my girlfriend had to go on the small glasses. So in the same pub a group of people walked into this pub. Rumour has it that it was the motleyest of motley crews. You had the entire Rolling Stones band, Johnny Deppy , Matt Dillon for some reason , Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. So after a few drinks things went up a notch and Jagger started singing. Straight away the owner told them to stop as no singing was aloud in his pub. The group started laughing and moved onto the next pub. Whether the owner of the pub knew who was singing in his pub is unknown but imagine getting Mick Jagger to play in a pub these days. It would cost 7 figures I imagine. Anyway back to the music.

This Modern Life - Bloc Party

I always had a soft spot for Bloc Party and this is my favourite song. When I heard it on Saltburn I was delighted. Great song in a film. It's in many but song itself deserves more recognition.

Happiness

As I said before I have always had a little raver in me and I am fond of dance music. I went to a God's Kitchen one year as a favour to a friend and I was the only one queueing for a pint rather than water as everybody was off their heads on drugs. So I never really got too into it. Kinda like religion. My father once said to me "Religion is grand and all that but don't get too into it." Wise words. The same can probably be said for the 90's drug scene.

Perfect - Exceeder

Source

All the old faithful Perfect from Mason - Exceeder - that's music video got every red blooded teenagers blood flowing back in the day. But I will not play this video but maybe give you the Saltburn video instead which is probably more depraved altogether. Perfect is just a perfect dance song.

And there we have it. The Saltburn soundtrack is a must listen. The film is a must watch . @ablaze loves all things Irish so he will be keen to watch barry Keoghan give the performance of his life.
