People’s Preference In Music.
Sometime when I was much younger, I never for once saw my mum listening to music. Instead, she will listen to the radio and I’m sure she was fine with that. I wasn’t pained but what hurts me most is the fact that I may be playing my kind of music which I love and she will ask me to put off the speaker.
This continued to happen for a while until I followed her to her friend’s birthday party. My mum whom I thought never liked music started to dance to the song that was played at the party.
This led me to making more researches especially after I saw my dad singing while cleaning the house someday. “So my dad listens to music”. I said to myself and I also noticed that older people don’t really vibe to the kind of songs that we, the younger ones like. This brought about my topic, “people’s preference in music”.
We have to understand that there is no single person in this world who does not like music. I think it is just that we may be saddled to the task of making some findings about the kind of songs that they like.
For example, in Africa, the older people or the greatest generations and mostly the millennials love older songs. There is a music genre called “Fuji” here in Nigeria and these older people are so much in love with it. Let’s have two songs of the Fuji genre.
There is no Nigerian parent who won’t dance when they hear this particular song. That’s because it was sung during their childhood and agile days. Also, they are so used to listening to more songs like this and they prefer it to the ones being sung these days.
Just like this. Older people will surely prefer to listen to this instead of going for the newly made songs. That’s what we call preference.
When it comes to me, I also have my preference in music just like you have yours. I generally love Afro Pop songs. I know I listen to other music genre but I can decide to listen to some Afro Pop songs throughout the day and never get tired. That’s my preference even though I still vibe to some other genres.
Even when I do not feel like listening to music, if I am at a place where Afro Pop music is being played, I will surely want to listen to some music.
Blow is a correct Afro Pop song. The trumpet sound in the song makes it more lovely and that is one thing which entices me in Afro Pop songs.
Well, there are some people who are yet to stay on a music preference. They know what they prefer but they are not being sure. I know you know the kind of songs you love to listen to. It helps so that when you ever get tired of music or do not feel like listening, your music preference will bring your music vibe back to life.
You are absolutely correct @bisolamih, there is no one who do not like music. This very post made me flash back to the days when my dad play these old guys
