This song, "It's my life" reminds me of a good friend of mine. She loves this song so much and sings this in karaoke. Others' impression on us can really affect friendship from developing. But you and your friend's shared interest in music perhaps has helped in the foundation of your friendship. Haha, yes the rock star signature head banging move... Lol

The second one is a very old one which I love as well, when younger I used to say these lines...

I never wanted the stars, never shot for the moon, I like them right where they are, all I wanted was you...

...were pure poetry. I was in love of those lines for so long.
