Another week, another great theme for the stage of #openmic. This week we have an exploration of friendship and it resonates with my choice. You might be familiar with the song "My Way" first performed by Frank Sinatra and written for him by his friend, Paul Anka. There is a story about some joking around about this song. It's quite interesting that it's a version of s french song. You can read more about this here.

Friendships transcend many things when they are true. My best friend is someone I barely speak to these days. But if I ever receive a message, I'd leave anything I'm doing to reply. Even if it's just saying "hello". And I know he'd do the same.

This song is an example of how true friendship goes beyond time. It's a wonderful classic and an easy one to pull of in soloist style.

Funny story, I learned this one pretty fast after my teacher asked me if he had taught the song. To quote his words, "I didn't teach you this, huh? I thought I had. It must be the age. Then, we have are song for the day". And like that, we were onto this lessons. Must of not clases have this sort of comedic element. That's why I have been learning so much in such little time.

Una nueva semana nos trae otro tema genial para el #openmic. En esta ocasión, hablamos sobre la amistad. Amistad cercana. Mi elección para esta temática es el tema "My Way" popularizado por Frank Sinatra con letra de su amigo, Paul Anka. Hay una historia muy interesante a manera de broma sobre cómo nació esta pieza. Las amistades verdades trascienden muchas cosas. En mi caso, no hablo con mi mejor amigo en años; pero si me escribiers hoy, dejaría lo que estoy haciendo osts contestar. Así sea solo para saludar. Sé que él haría lo mismo.

Está canción es un gran ejemplo de esta idea de amistad. Además, es un clásico sencillo que permite la exploración cómo tema solista.

Una anécdota graciosa sobre cómo la aprendí, se remonta a hace dos semanas. Mi profesor estaba preguntando por un tema para la clase y me preguntó si me había enseñado este. Para citar lo que dijo: "¿No lo hice? Pensaba que sí. Debe ser la edad. Bueno, ya tenemos una canción para hoy". Y así ya habíamos comenzado a estudiar este tema.
