Publicity Phase...

Sigh... with the lull period over for our ensemble, we are now moving into the publicity phase for our next two concerts and tour over the next couple of months.

The last month has been mainly involved in collecting all the music and manuscripts that we needed, finalising programmes, and devising decent orders, accommodation and travel arrangements, writing up rehearsal scheduling, and planning lessons for the student guests.... oops, there is still one travel thing we need to take care of... a van hire for the tour!

Anyway, most of that stuff is now completed... and being about 6 weeks out from the first concert means that all the publicity stuff sort of needs to start going out. We prefer to have the bulk of things go out about 4 weeks before, and the physical stuff starts about 3 weeks out.... but this time, I have all the online stuff up and running already, and the legacy media and direct contacts will be in a couple of weeks.

... and that means that all the material just needs to be ready to be send out without too much additional changes or input. I hate doing the emails already... and so, if it is just a quick thing, then I'm more likely to just bite the bullet for a day and get everything out immediately.

... and I am away on tour soon, and that is the best time to start sending out all those emails!

The fact that there are two main concerts and a small tour back to back also means that I don't want to be faffing around too much in between projects dealing with the publicity stuff either. It is annoying, but even more annoying when you are running out of time!

Plus, tax reporting season is incoming, and that means that I need to have our personal taxes ready... as well as the ensemble non-profit reporting ready as well! AAARGH... this is going to be a terrible set of months if I'm not organised... and I would rather be playing music than stressing about accounting and everything else....

The things that we do to pursue our artistic side...
