This was a nice turn of the century (20th Century... after the Australian Federation...) building that I had recently played in. I haven't been to Brisbane that many times, and the last few times that I played here it wasn't at the Brisbane City Hall (not to be confused with the Town Hall). So, it was a nice little discovery!

Some little guardians to pass on the way in!

The stage was framed by the pipes of the large organ.... I wonder if that was a thing in the early Federation town halls to have a large organ in the main meeting hall? I know that the Sydney Town Hall has a similar set up..... I'm going to have to keep looking to see if the other capital cities also have large organs in their historic town halls!

The stage and audience were lit up in a pretty interesting colour... it did make for a subdued ambience, and would deter any classical music audience members from shooting up whilst listening to our concert!

As usual, I do really get quite intrigued by the ceilings of the buildings that I play in... the older ones tend to have something interesting up there. Of course, most of the Australian places aren't as ornate or painted as the European ones that I've seen... but this was a really nice geometric pattern that was emphasised by the lighting effect!

Meanwhile... as always, the back stage areas aren't anything quite like the front of house! Much more functional, and much less appealing
