What's one more?

Ellie and I are going to do a stake out tonight. Her daughter, who I still have to find a pseudonym for, is going to her first party. She doesn't have any experience in parties and is going with a friend who's kind of flaky, and they chose a party with around 800 people as first experience. With an unknown location so far - they disclose that later. So, all alarm bells are on. But we also want her to get out there, socialize (she's 15), have the experiences she's supposed to have that age. Hence, we're going to drop her off, check out the premises, and then hang out somewhere close. Just in case.

It's not an easy task to balance that. Ellie certainly is struggling with that, and more and more I find myself in that, too. Let's call her daughter Kami. Kami has grown on me quite a bit. When talking about our future plans, moving in together, making a ceremony for our vows, and so on, we recently included getting formally married. There might be the chance that I can adopt Kami that way, taking away the official fatherhood from her biological father who was never really present and now ows around 30k in child support. That way, Kami could get the German passport and the possibility to study there.

It feels good to think at level. Having the confidence to take up part of the responsibility. I could spend the evening with my friends at another friend's birthday party, but I'll be hanging out with Ellie for 3h so Kami can have fun. It feels like the right thing to do. Supporting both off them. Being there. Taking it to another level, step by step, and being absolutely comfortable doing so.

A friend recommended Chicago Transit Authority to me yesterday. I did not expect this style of music, but I really liked the album. Very neat for the amount of musicians. And my friend said that they're the "tightest band he's ever experienced", which means quite a lot.

Wishing you all a great weekend!

Adopting 'Kami' would be such a sign of commitment and love. ❤️❤️ Music hit right this sunny Sunday morning in the garden.

I'm listening to the album the second time now, and it's getting even better! especially the second half...

Although not been in that situation before myself, I think at the age 'Kami' is now, it's important that your relationship with Ellie takes into account of her feelings and it sounds you're doing a great job of it.

How does she and Lily get on, if you don't mind me asking?
