Always something new.

If you follow my diary blog @beelshops, you know that I was incredibly busy last week. And then I got sick. And then I got better and decided to join my chosen family on a get away, which was awesome and absolutely worth it and produced so many pictures that I will have trouble choosing for tomorrow's "Last week's favorites". Like this temple:

I crouched and got all dirty to get the sun right behind the cupola. Worth it, don't you think? It reminded me a lot of an Hundertwasser creation that @stayoutoftherz wrote about a few weeks back. It's in German, but absolutely worth translating. Hope you don't mind me tagging you! Really enjoyed that post, as I do love the science around waste.

It's only 1h away from where we live, yet a different universe. And the drive - another part that I love about our get-aways is the music. Ellie does, too. "There's something incredibly gratifiying watching you drive in the sun while listening to our playlist." I wrote about our playlist before, what it means to me. Apparently to us. I love that. Being able to share that with her.

I didn't know this song was by Paul McCartney, to be honest. She put it on yesterday, and she's right - we both love the Beatles, but we didn't have any songs there. That's changed now. Though I don't generally like to take songs out of the album. And adding a whole album is a little too much for a "Play random" playlist. Personally, I love The White Album. Abbey Road, too. I added my favorites. That must be enough. What's your favorite Beatles Album or song?

Honestly, there's some weird 90s/00s stuff on that playlist. Ellie was never into rap, as she confessed to me, but still there's my favorite Eminem (Lose yourself) and the Gorillaz, among others. Gorillaz were always a favorite band of mine because of the way they combine groovy basslines and beats with melody and pretty cool lyrics. Which I didn't understand when I started listening to them, but that makes it even better.

To finish off, another picture of our tour yesterday - from within that temple. I tried to line it all up and looked pretty stupid leaning back and forth and taking mini steps to the right and left. It's not that perfect, but I'm satisfied with the picture. Next time I'll do better. The round parts are a chandelier, arabic style, hanging from the middle of the bamboo roof. The colors to it's borders are painted glass. The rest of the structure you can see.

I'll write a worldmapping post about that place. It's a village that is on a plateau, and this specific place is right on the highest point where you can walk around the plate and enjoy a 360° view. Just awesome.

So far for the music post - maybe I'll get one done for the challenge, too. I'm quite hyped on writing right now. Feels good. Have a good night!
