Hi members of Q Inspired-by-Music, First time here.

Ever had a song that keeps you going most time? There are days I feel exhausted about everything. I just get my Airpods and turn on my favorite song from Alicia Keys titled The Underdog released on 2020.

An Underdog is a person who has a lower class or status in society. It is a competitor who has little or no chance of winning a fight or contest. Someone without power.

This simply shows how tired she was and decided to take a walk, at that point all she decided to do was look up and things changed. This section of her lyrics made me understand that even if I am going through the roughest time in my life I just need to look up and maybe there could be something that makes me feel better or tells me more about life. Something that could change the whole moment and make me feel good. It just starts with looking up and believing.

This has to be my favorite part of Underdogs as whenever I get to this part I scream it out so loud that it helps motivate me, this song just knows how to lift my spirit.

Most times when I was weak, had people talk down on me and what I had to offer, had so many thoughts in my head, what if I don’t make it? What if I don’t accomplish that dream? What if I am not good enough?
Well Alicia Keys's music makes me feel so much better by letting me know I am built to break the mold, I am built to get whatever I want to get even if I have no connection of any sort, I can do anything the moment I set my heart.

With this song, I feel like I have a voice and I have a dream that I would be noticed one day and I would make waves.

She dedicates this song to single mothers, young teachers, students, doctors, hustlers, and a lot more. No matter how hard it seems we just have to keep on doing what we love, what we feel happy doing even if things go off most days. We just have to be strong and in the long run, we’ll find that one day we’ll rise up and make waves.

This will always be my number 1 song because it makes me feel motivated all around. It focuses on finding your voice, recognizing your power, and ignoring every negative comment thrown at you by anyone.
