ThreeTunesTuesday - Far Away from Saving the Worls as we Know it?

avatar

( EN / DE ) This is a TTT post, but it also is part of my comment to @dandays recent post. What is the point behind all the beautiful photos we post here every day, if we use them to close our eyes to what is our daily reality?
Aren't we deceiving ourselves? Yes, we are masters in self-deception anyway. Who could say that he lives his life absolutely honest to himself and others.

Anyway, here are the songs whose titles are missing in the text of the comment at Dandays, enjoy!

Comment: Great post about a women buying foods as if...

It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) - R.E.M.

R.E.M. was actually also one of the absolute band highlights of my youth and now that I hear them again I realize I miss them. Well, maybe soon once a separate TTT only about this American band, which were one of the most successful of their genre at all. Simply brilliant!
Einfach genial!

Comment: Or could it be she lives too ... from civilization?

FAR AWAY - Tom Samit

I didn't know Tom Samit before, 258 Youtube subscribers and just 416 likes on this song, well maybe we could change that if you like the music? There doesn't even seem to be a wiki entry for more information (yet). A DJ and composer from Germany it seems. That's all I can say about it, except that this song FAR AWAY had me immediately under its spell.

Comment: Or maybe she simply doesnt know a way, that finally one day she could sing: ...

I Saved the World Today - Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart

Eurythmics. I think it is not necessary to write much about it, it seems impossible to me that someone has never heard of them?
In fact, I personally was never a big fan, but this song, I like it very much.

Eurythmics.

Once again thank you so much dear Dandays, bringing me out of my "dont know if I should post something corner" and back to the keyboard to write.

This was my ThreeTunesTuesday post for @ablaze and as always I hope you enjoyed :-) Yours, B.

Thank you for the new music choices ... never heard of Tom Samit, but, now his name has a place.

I actually saw your first sentence and that is what drew me in ... it is perhaps a mistake to assume that any number of others are using beautiful things as a way to hide from the hard things of our reality. It is equally possible, in a community like Hive, that we use beauty to stay motivated to make things better for ourselves and others. Without beauty, hope is hard to find, but in addition, I do see a great deal of evidence that people on Hive care about others and are doing what they can.

There is also something to be said for the fact that beautiful things exist not merely for our needs, but because they ARE. I am presently reading German philosopher Martin Buber, and he reminds his readers in Ich and Du that there are two ways of realizing everything: experience and encounter. Experience leads us to look at things and people as they serve whatever we want -- I-It relationships -- and encounter can be transformative because we encounter all things and people as they truly are -- I-Thou relationships. If we can have such encounters, so can others we are concerned about, and that helps them -- to be exposed to beauty may be key to someone reconnecting to hope and light and life, and work with others to better their and others' situations.

I am not sure about but there is also the thought that if the beautiful impressions are too far away from experienced reality it could get different to feel joy and hope, but rather sadness and dispair?
The same with visualizations, when they are too far away from our inner believes they rarely can work.
Never heard about Martin Buber
Thank you for stopping by 🙂

I had not considered it from that perspective ... I will give this further consideration.

maybe it also depends on if one has optimistic or pessimistic view.
But I think I read somewhere, that for real depressive people it can be difficult to hear statements like "look how wonderful the world is"
Still I am a big dreamer, so for me its always good to see wonderful pictures :-)

I was thinking about that distinctive ... for real depressive people, it is very difficult because that is almost like taunting them with a world they are struggling to believe they can reach ... or have given up on because of what they are suffering ... there is a song I'm going to include in a Three Tune Tuesday about this -- Schubert's Der Wanderer -- and a song I'm probably not -- Strauss's Der Einsame -- that kind of epitomize that stage ... there is probably something to be said for real depressive people knowing we see them where they are, and that they can be seen where they are and still be loved and cared for ... but this is hard to convey in any public environment...

see them where they are, and that they can be seen where they are and still be loved and cared for

Thats so true and probably the biggest problem they have in our "better faster higher" society

Schubert and Strauss is music I like, as Austrian there is no other way 😉 Hope I dont miss your ttt post about them

I might just go on and put "Der Einsame" in ... expect both Austrian greats to represent, because they do fit the theme I'm thinking of in two weeks!

Two I know already (part of my collection). I've not heard Far Away - Tom Samit. Ten seconds in and I know I really like it. Some of the sound reminded of a song that I can't think of at the moment.

Who could say that he lives his life absolutely honest to himself and others.

It's not possible to fully be that in this construct/world. Most prefer the beautiful lie not the ugly truth is why.

Some of those techno sounds always seem similar to me.
White lies can also be good sometimes I think. Just wonder why we cannot always be true to ourselves

It's one specific song and I can hear it in my head, just can't connect it with the song (call it a short circuit).

White lies can also be good sometimes I think.

I really don't know. I can only speak to what I prefer, which is the ugly truth, no matter how ugly. At least then, I know what I'm dealing with and if I'm disturbed by that, I better look at why I am disturbed. It's the way I've always been.

Just wonder why we cannot always be true to ourselves

That gets complicated fast. It's an individual journey of discovering oneself.

Its a difficult topic. Look at people dying because of bad prognosis, maybe a white lie would have been better and instead giving trust and hope there might be a way?

I dont know. But in general am the person going with the truth.

Look at people dying because of bad prognosis

I'm not sure what you're referring to. I tend to unplug from a lot of things, so that could be why.

maybe a white lie would have been better and instead giving trust and hope there might be a way?

Again, I don't know. Lies, lying, all of it gets complicated. Been trying to sort that out most of my life (yes, I'm serious).

Probably the important aspect regarding lies is to never lie to oneself. That's where causing oneself problems begins. I learned the hard way.

Its about placebos and the so called nocebos. That ones believe can be part of what becomes true.
But agree, the truth is always the best way eeccan choose ❤️

nocebos

I've never heard that word before. I like it.

But agree, the truth is always the best way eeccan choose ❤️

I don't much concern myself with anything other than not lying to myself, so in that sense absolutely. Lies beyond that, I trust my ability to discern when that is happening and choose my response or lack of response in the moment.

It's just for me, although if you find anything useful in what I say, feel free to give it a try.

The whole lying thing has been a nemesis of mine for the majority of my life, so I've been trying to sort it for that long. I only settled on what I said in my last comment about ten years ago.

Based on what I observe, many people struggle with this lying thing. Always, I find it best to figure out what is right for yourself specifically because you know best what is right for you above anyone else.

Yes, guess this will also be an important part of my healing journey. Knowing my truth but also living by my true values
Thank you for the input ❤️

It's not an easy journey, but it's the most worthwhile one of true value. I'd do it all over again because of how much I grew and where I am now.

Thank you for the input ❤️

You're most welcome! 💖

If you ever need help getting up again or sitting down or whatever it is, don't hesitate. You're special to me.

I'm real familiar with that letter that's got you. Sorry you're not well. If you need more middle fingers, I got two.

Oh you ❤️ thank you. Great song brought some healing tears out.
Looking at my hands... Probably I first should start using my own two more! Its a powerful gesture.
