Shadow, shade and light
I've worked hard to understand myself; I feel I'm a good person...but what makes or defines a good person? I believe a person who understands their positive aspects and works to improve and develop and grow them could be defined as a good person, provided they do no intentional harm to others...but a good person must also know their shadows, weaknesses and negative aspects...There cannot be good without bad, light without shadow and a person cannot be whole unless both are seen and acknowledged...and improved upon.
I believe, because I'm a good person, good things can happen and one of the most amazing things that ever happened to me was meeting my partner, a man who nurtures, supports, cares for and protects me; a man who helps be my true self, who cherishes me for who I am and a man who gives me the space to grow and develop...he doesn't smother me or seek to control me...a person cannot grow in the shade.
I feel I'm very fortunate in life, it's a good one mostly and I'm happy, but sometimes the light goes out and its at those times I feel so blessed to have my partner, a man whose spark never fails to rekindle my flame, my light, and it's that light which burns so brightly that draws him to me, as the moth to a flame, and which surrounds us in beauty; the beauty of our lives together.

When the one who is next to you helps you to develop without suffocating you, when he/she gives you freedom and confidence, when he/she is, as I say, like yourself but in the opposite sex, how marvellous. I understand perfectly what you are saying and it is wonderful to live it.
To be a good and integral person is to know one's own lights and shadows. That's how it is.
You are blessed, of that I have no doubt.

Thank you, I focus on writing from my heart when it comes to my special person and I guess that's what you're seeing in my words above.
Out of the three tracks I put into this post the first one is my favourite also, the last track runs a close second.

The definition of a good person changes a little from person to person, and I like your interpretation. I am happy that you found your partner, and that you support one another. We all need a shoulder to lean on from time to time. The tracks you shared are also wonderful.
I agree, each person needs to determine what it is for themselves, the sad part is that many do not.

How good it is to have someone like that around for when the light goes out... I'm so happy for you, for both of you.
It's really nice to have someone to rely upon, someone who cares, who works so hard to look after me (and himself) and someone to share good times with and work through the bad.
