A very nice collection of iconic 80s (give or take) synth pop!
Though Anne Clark is not really pop, but anyway. But Moroder sure was, and he began the trend already in the 70s, the best example for that is probably the smash hit "I feel love" by Donna Summer, who lived in Munich at the time:

Another "branch" of the synth wave was the "industrial wave", with more aggressive sounds. One band that could be named for that is Front 242 with songs like this:

At the same time, there was a more "verkopfter" strain of that trend. One of the best examples is the cooperation of David Byrne with Brian Eno:


Their album "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" is a all time great, in the league of "Dark Side of the Moon" und such, I would say. Ground breaking sound back then.
