Jazz Relapse: Return to Forever (1972)

I just tripped over this legendary album on YT again, after I forgot about it for many years - I probably last listened to it in the early 80s.

The more fun it is to find it again now. Its a real gem of progressive Jazz of the 70s, with top musicians of that time:
Chick Corea - Rhodes Electric Piano
Stanley Clarke - Electric Bass, Double Bass
Joe Farrell - Flute, Soprano Saxophone
Flora Purim - Vocals, Percussion
Airto Moreira - Drums, Percussion

Vielleicht (aber reine Geschmacksache) gefällt mir "Light As A Feather" noch einen Ticken besser?
Ich habe ihn mit Stanley Clarke auf der Bühne erlebt. Danach war ich der festen Überzeugung, mein Trommelfell im Müll entsorgen zu können. Es war dermaßen laut, dass von Genießen keine Rede mehr sein konnte.

Ja, sowas habe ich auch schon erlebt. Ich bin auch schon mal nach 10 Minuten gegangen, weil sich das einfach grausam anhörte.
Wahrscheinlich gibt (oder gab) es Tontechniker, deren Gehör schon völlig im Eimer ist. Die müssen dann immer lauter drehen um überhaupt noch was zu hören. Und manchen Misukern geht wohl auch so. Die versuchen wohl so zu werden wie Beethoven... :)
