Tribute To Dagrin... #TTT

Hello Music Lovers!!!

It is a common belief that we will all die one day. There is no remedy to that. That's why I believe while you are still alive, there is something attached to living life and that is the sound of music.

Before I move on to today's tune, I welcome you to another edition of #threetunestuesday hosted by @ablaze.

In today's tune, I bring to your table, another African Nigerian rapper, Dagrin, whose real name is Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, though people gave the real meaning of his stage name after he died as;

  • D- Died
  • A- After
  • G- Getting
  • R- Rich
  • I- In
  • N- Nigeria.

Some believed he used a fast fetish means to get fame, and I don't blame them as everyone has the right to speech, but the right after speech is what I am not sure of.

Without further ado, let's dive into some little details about who the three tuner for today was.

As I mentioned, his name is Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, and he was from Ogun State, Abeokuta the capital.

He was born on the 25th of October 1984 and died on the 22nd of April 2010 at age 25.

He released lots of music before he died and even music stating people shouldn't cry for him when he dies.

As we begin today's tune, get your headphone ready as we move to the first, second, and last tunes for the day.

1. Pon Pon Pon; Dagrin

Did you hear it? It says I will blow your mind.

You see, Dagrin is a great rapper that when you listen to his music, you will know he will truly blow your mind.

Dagrin was born in the ghetto and this music was filled with messages about who he is and his lifestyle. What I love about this music is how his lyrics always rhyme so that you find your lip saying the last word with a smile.

The music, Pon Pon Pon, was sung in the year 2009 by Dagrin.

2. Thank God; Dagrin Ft. Omowunmi.

"Wetin I go do, baba na to thank you".

We all need to be thankful the moment we wake to see the morning sun. It is a rare blessing we sometimes fail to recognize.

Were you thankful when you woke up today? Remember many went to sleep but not all are wakened.

There is a need to praise our creator in ways we know to show gratuity for life. It isn't a joke to be alive and thriving and for this... I say thank God.

The music, Thank God, was sung by Dagrin (rapper) and Omowunmi in 2009.

3. My Pain

This music was sung to pay tribute to Dagrin when he died. Lots of Nigerian musicians came on board to pay their respect.

All rappers and singers came together, United to sing the music, My Pain.

It was a sad day for everyone who knew him, including me, cos I love his music. The vibes in his music are just too much that I still feel a pang in my chest whenever I hear his music wherever I find myself.

The music, My pain, was released in the year 2010.

This ends the tunes for today with our tuner for the day, Dagrin (R.I.P) brother.

Still yours truly,
Balikis.

Thanks for reading and listening.

All videos were gotten from #Youtube.

Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.

Sounds just like the rap we were all bumping here in 2010 hehe! I love how the vibe is the same, but with different meanings behind it. It is sad that he died so young, it seems that a lot of talented rappers do :(

I wonder Balikis, How old were you in 2010? I always think I am older than you, but maybe I am not by much? I was 19 then 😁

No no. She is not mature then. 😂 It must have been that little girl listening to her brothers or elder sisters play them. Or maybe she heard them from the radio, television or on the streets and parties 😂 😂. I am sure she don’t have a cellphone then.

RIP Dagrin, like many rapper gone too soon. Do you know how he died?

Good tunes, and all new to me.

We all need to be thankful the moment we wake to see the morning sun. It is a rare blessing we sometimes fail to recognize. Were you thankful when you woke up today? Remember many went to sleep but not all are wakened.

Very good point, we have so much to be thankful for when we have our health, everything else is a bonus.

Yes... He had an accident. A truck crushed his car.
