What's found in nature is quite unique in their own ways
Animals have their different ways of interacting with people and to my greatest surprise I figured out that they are quite smart and intelligent in their own ways and even organised. One usual thing I normally notice is how differently the mother hen in my house reacts around my little niece and nephew. This is the first clue I got that made me embark on a deeper research and observations and I discovered that most animals realise the difference between adult humans and baby humans, this includes both domesticated animals and the wild ones.
Usually the mother hen that roams around within my compound is always very aggressive especially after hatching their eggs but I found out that though they may be very aggressive towards me they most times fear getting real close to me if they want to attack. This got to the point when I felt a bit relaxed about the aggressive behaviour of these hens and thought perhaps they might try to scare the children away but not attack in any case if the children come close but the reverse is the case.
Usually I don't allow the children to go close to aggressive animals but one morning I heard my niece screaming by the side of the house and not just me but everyone in the house rushed outside to know what was going on and when we got to the corner it was a mother hen that charged towards my little niece and before our very eyes was flying up and down my nieces.
None of us felt help about this as the hen appeared to have comfortably done that to the child unlike the way it does to us adults. Remember there is a saying about facing your own fears and this is what came to our mind and we gave my little niece a long stick and encouraged her to go after the mother hen and fight back. By then she was already terrified and crying with her body shaking, I could put myself in her shoes and know what she wanted at that moment and I know one of it would be to be tightly embraced and lifted up above the ground beyond the reach of the terrible hen but we encouraged her to fight and fight she did.
She looked at the number of us stand with her and encouraging her to go and fight and she when waving the long stick at the crazy hen, must have landed some good number of strokes on the hen before she gave up though I know that might not even be painful to the hen but I'm happy she was bold enough to do that and since after that day I was hoping that she will start becoming afraid of mother hen but hell no!
Now she acts around them like the boss and even pursues them away even without any rod or stick and I'm glad, she is gradually growing taller and bigger than she was before she was attacked.
Now one thing I learnt from this little happening is that it is good to face your fears and animals have a sense of the weaker ones among humans and become more bold in attacking them more fiercely. Also there is a video I saw on Facebook where a child came behind a cow very close to it's hind leg and the cow raised its legs and gave the child a gently push away from its body, I sincerely beloved that if it was an adult human that was close to that cows hind leg, he would have received a more powerful kick. Another video I saw on YouTube on how a leopard seems to be caring and gentle around a newly born baby deer which seemed to be abandoned by its parents during the chase of running between life and death.
The leopard caught up with the baby deer but didn't kill it for minutes even till where the video stopped. It seemed to be playing with or even pampering the baby deer though something in me tells me whether the video stopped might actually be around the moment the leopard decided to kill the little animal but the fact is that animals can differentiate between young and matured in both animals and humans.
Thanks for stopping by.
Just you said @baby1, they are intelligent in their own way. God has wonderfully made every creature
