Bruno Mars has shown his soft side from his hit debut album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans", which scored a number of hit singles, and sales with estimates at 15 million units. Trying to prove that he's not a one-album wonder, he released his sophomore album "Unorthodox Jukebox".

On the album, Bruno Mars has shown his edgier side. The formula worked for him as it produced a number of hits too. It was led by the single "Locked Out of Heaven" which contains elements of pop, rock, and reggae. There's comparison of the song to Sting. Despite less melodic compared to his previous hits, "Locked Out of Heaven" became a big hit giving Bruno Mars another number 1 hit in Billboard Hot 100 and US Mainstream chart, with Diamond platinum certification equivalent to 10x platinum. In UK Singles Chart, it reached a peak at number 2 with 3x platinum award.

The piano ballad "When I Was Your Man" was released as the second single off "Unorthodox Jukebox" and the song became his second Billboard Hot 100 and US Mainstream chart number 1 hit from the album. It also peaked at number 2 in UK like its predecessor. It was 11x platinum in the United States, higher than "Locked Out Of Heaven", and also 3x platinum in UK. The song was also the subject to the hit of Miley Cyrus' "Flowers".

Bruno Mars has gone retro on the disco, funk-pop, soul track "Treasure". Its music video featured Bruno dancing in a retro mode. The song became a number 5 hit in Billboard Hot 100, and was certified platinum in the US. It only peaked at number 12 in UK Singles Chart but it managed to achieve platinum status.

"Gorilla" and "Young Girls" are the last two final singles off the album but both songs failed to make an impact. "Unorthodox Jukebox" was hit album reaching number 1 both in the US and UK, and was certified 6x and 3x platinum respectively.
