Dido took a while before she achieved fame from her debut album "No Angel". Despite being from UK, her first album was released first in North America in 1999, but it took off in 2001 when it is selling well in UK and other countries.

"No Angel" was led by the single "Here with Me" initially released in 1999, being used in the hit US Sci-fi series "Roswell". The song gained fame in 2001 following the success of Eminem's "Stan", which interpolated Dido's song "Thank You", and also as a featured artist.

"Here With Me" peaked inside the top 10 of Eurochart Hot 100, and number 4 in UK Singles Chart, a Gold Record in the country. It failed to enter Billboard Hot 100, though it charted at number 16 of US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles.

"Don't Think of Me" was released as the second single in America, and it peaked at number 35 of US Adult Top 40.

"Thank You" was released as the third single overall, which initially gained attention, as mentioned above, being used in the Eminem hit "Stan". It gave Dido another top 10 hit in Eurochart Hot 100, while a bigger hit in UK at number 3. The song became a US hit reaching number 3 in Billboard Hot 100, and number 2 in US Mainstream chart.

"No Angel" was a successful album though reaching number 4 in the US, where it was certified 4x platinum. It was very successful in UK where it went 10x platinum. The sales estimate of the album is over 15 million copies.
