Monkey Business: BEP's Fourth Release

Black Eyed Peas has been known in the underground music, and released two albums before they took off in mainstream scene. "Elephunk" has been extremely successful which was initiated by the success of their hit single "Where is the Love?"

They released their fourth album (second mainstream) "Monkey Business" which had incorporated the same sound as "Elephunk". It was preceded by the single "Don't Phunk With My Heart" which obviously included the word "phunk" from their previous album "Elephunk". It was a hit both commercially and critically reaching the top 10 in all the official charts worldwide including Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream chart where it reached number 3 in both. It also reached number 3 in UK Singles Chart.

"Don't Lie" was released as the second single which some critics dismissed its too pop sound, and lyrics. However, it is noted as hip-hop song different from the usual since most rap songs has violent lyrics. The single was still a hit reaching number 14 in Billboard Hot 100 and 12 in Mainstream chart. While in European Hot 100 Singles, it reached number 10 and 6 in UK Singles Chart.

Black Eyed Peas had gone controversial with the salacious lyrics of the song "My Humps" which was released as the third single off "Monkey Business". Despite the critical negative reviews, it became the biggest hit from the album reaching number 3 in Billboard Hot 100, and in UK Singles Chart.

"Pump It" was the fourth single, and it extended the group's success especially in Europe where it reached number 2, and number 3 in UK. In Billboard Hot 100, it reached number 18, while number 11 in Mainstream chart. "Bebot" was released in the Philippines as it is intended to be released in the country due to its Tagalog lyrics. It became a huge hit in the country.

"Monkey Business" debuted at number 2 in the US, where it has sold around 4 million copies. It reached number 4 in UK, where it was 3x platinum.
