Cooleyhighharmony: The Big Selling Debut of Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men was a powerhouse vocal group even at their start. It was already evident on their debut album "Cooleyhighharmony", which had released a number of six singles, and established them a superstars in United States.

Despite being known for their ballads, Boyz II Men gained fame first with the upbeat track "Motownphilly", which was their first single. It was a number 3 hit on Billboard Hot 100. In UK Singles Chart, it peaked at number 23.

"It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday", a cover by Boyz II Men was their second single. It's an acapella version, which was tribute to the late rapper MC Trouble. Their version became a number 2 hit in United States. "Uhh Ahh" became the third single, and it peaked at number 16 in their homeland.

"Please Don't Go" was the fourth single, and it reaches number 49 in Billboard Hot 100. Eventually, Boyz II Men achieved the biggest hit of the album after the reissue of "Cooleyhighharmony" with the song "End of the Road" being released as a single. It was also part of the soundtrack of the movie "Boomerang". The single became a global number 1 hit, even staying at the top in Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks, and the number 1 single of the year in America.

Boyz II Men released the final single off "Cooleyhighharmony" which was the cover and acapella version of "In the Still of the Night (I'll Remember)". It became a number 3 hit on Billboard Hot 100, and a number 27 peak in UK Singles Chart.

"Cooleyhighharmony" was indeed a success both with album sales and its singles particularly in United States. It had gone 9x platinum in the country, and in UK, it was Gold Record.
