Fifth Harmony was formed in the US X-Factor by the show's creator Simon Cowell. It is reminiscent of how One Direction was created through the UK X-Factor as each members has auditioned individually. Fifth Harmony ended up as the third place at the said competition.

To bring Fifth Harmony to the mainstream music industry, they released an extended play or EP instead which they entitled as "Better Together". It only contains 5 track originally, with another track added on the iTunes version.
