Today for Three Tune Tuesday I’m covering a band I loved on the late nineties & early 2000’s called the Halo Friendlies! They were an all girl pop punk band! I remember seeing them live opening for Good Charlotte & MxPx when I was in High School but otherwise I had known them as a so cal small band I just happened to hear about from a friend who was into a million small bands nobody else knew.
My three tunes will all be from the 2001 Halo Friendlies album Get Real!
Well unfortunately most this bands recordings aren’t anywhere to be found on streaming services. So I’ll pick three tunes from the one record I mentioned above. That said apparently years after I knew this band they had a song on movie soundtrack and it looks like all different members or at least mostly. Weird! Here’s that song as a bonus tune!
Halo Friendlies - Me Vs. The World
It looks like it’s only 1 or 2 of the 4 original members so that’s lame but so random they were on a Disney movie soundtrack in I guess 2004 or so? Not that many years after I was following them but I assumed they had broken up. Anyway here’s my three tunes from The 2001 record “Get Real” the only one available on streaming apparently. I had some records from the nineties by them but I definitely lost them over the years. Oh well enjoy!

The first song/video sounds a bit like Ultimate, also from Freaky Friday. I remember that movie was a huge hit with the tweens in my family at the time.
I like all 3 of the songs from Get Real although I'd say the first is the best, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing all these like totally awesome so-cal pop punk tunez!

Brings me back to warped tour vibes! I remember MxPx bringing them on tour but otherwise wasn’t as familiar with them until Ashlee mentioned em. I do remember them being on a comp CD I got at a Slick Shoes show in 1999. I am pretty sure it was this song ⬇️ definitely less production budget 🙃 but that’s where it all starts!
