Music is one thing I can never do without, because without music my life is truly an incomplete one. That's why, every time, I always listen to all different kinds of songs for entertainment purposes, to relieve my stress and boost my mood. Music means a lot to me. It is my source of happiness. Each time I go to work, I always carry my earphones along with me to listen to music. At home, I also listen to music when relaxing or doing house chores. Even when I'm happy, sad, or just feel like spending time on my own, music is always there with me. It is always there to soothe me, calm me, and make me happy.

In 2024, I listened to many kinds of African music, and out of all the songs, there is one specific song that I really love and enjoyed so much. The song Pano Tona by Kizz Daniel featuring Adekunle Gold remains my favorite song for the year 2024. I know you might be thinking that the main reason I like this song was because it was sung by one of my favorite Nigerian Afrobeat singers, Kizz Daniel. Well, if you are thinking like that, then you are wrong.

I am a lover of all kinds of musical genres, including hip-hop, gospel music, Apala and so on. I would have loved to pick a worship song like You Are You by Nathaniel Bassey or Aileyipada by Sunmisola Agbebi as my favorite songs for 2024. But I love this song, Pano Tona, so much, I love to listen to this song over and over again. The main reason why I love and choose this song as my favorite song for the year 2024 is because of its lyrics, and the powerful message it conveys.

The topic of this song, Pano Tona, is written in Yoruba language, one of the three main languages spoken in Nigeria. Pano Tona can be simply translated to English as Turn off the Light, Turn on the light. The singers used them in this song to pass a message that, as people are trying to stop me from shining, God is with me, I will keep on shining.

The song focuses on the theme of self-confidence, success, having strong faith in God, and giving gratitude to God. The song is all about giving gratitude to God for the blessings and success we have achieved in our lives. It's a powerful song, and whenever I listen to it, I always feel happy and remain thankful to God for everything I have achieved in my life.
