Welcome, music lovers and readers.
A new week begins today, which means a million possibilities and smiles for us. I'm feeling a bit motivated, as over the weekend things didn't go as I had hoped, but this week I have a blank slate and I get to do a lot of wonderful things with it. So what better than to start it off with a review of the amazing Shakira? For sure her good music gives me great vibes for my days, so here we go.
Seeing the album I'm reviewing makes me happy, because "Fijación Oral, Vol. 1" is one of the albums I was most looking forward to listen to in its entirety for the first time with you and give my opinion about it. I got down to work researching about it while reading a little bit about her background, her origin and the era in general, getting details I had no idea about, for example, that she and Gustavo Cerati were the main producers, which made me very excited.
"Fijación Oral, Vol. 1" looks to be a great musical wonder, with primordial songs of Shakira's career, such as "Las De La Intuición" and "La Tortura", seeing that the album is catalogued as one more Latin Pop, already fully with the genre that made her more commercial and well received by the market, however, we notice again that she does not stop in one genre and makes use of elements of rock, folk, reggaeton and even other less known ones. Today I simply put on my headphones, I invite you to do the same and join me in the review of "Fijación Oral, Vol. 1" by Shakira.
I do not ask that every Friday be a holiday.
As a kid I used to be obsessed with the lead single of this album, "La Tortura" features the collaboration of Alejandro Sanz, who does not fascinate me as a singer, but whose presence in the song makes it a chemical and sensual bomb, it is incredible the passion that is noted between both artists when presenting this song, it makes me say Long live art!.
Well, talking a little bit about the production, we noticed quite a bit of flamenco influence, mixing it with more Latin rhythms, like regueton, which Shakira supported "Shaketon" for taking the genre and giving it her personal touch. My favorite part is in the bridge, while Alejandro sings, there is an explosion of sounds that envelop me and make me want to listen to it more and more.
Lyrically, Shakira tells us about an ex who is dragging around asking to get back together with her, but she, even though she knows it hurts, decides not to go back because at the end of the day she knows it will be the best thing for her. I love the conversational dynamic that the song has, it makes it addictive for me, it's probably one of my favorite songs in Shaki's entire discography.

The second single is a far cry from the first one, we come across "No", a collaboration with Gustavo Cerati, who shows us his talent as a producer and is part of the instrumentation of this track, but leaves us wishing for a bit of his voice accompanying our Colombian.
Now, following the lyrical theme of the previous song, we see in this musical gem that Shakira is not willing to go back to this person, as much as it hurts and she misses him, but she is aware that the best thing to do is to leave him behind. This song is written in such a raw, painful and beautiful way that has too good lines, but my favorite is "No, don't look at me like before, don't talk in plural, rhetoric is your most lethal weapon ", listening to it with her voice made me have chills.
The sound is quite calm, it is a pure ballad style song, that typical heartbreaking song that Shakira knows how to do, especially with a great like Cerati. Nothing to criticize this song, because when your skin crawls listening to a song, you know it's really good.

Now we have the third single, which while not as pop as "La Tortura", is not as sad and deep a ballad as "No". I could easily put it alongside Latin pop songs like La Quinta Estación or Julieta Venegas. It is a tender love song, and it gives the vibe that the video conveys, of walking along the shore of the beach, very romantic.
The production, as I mentioned before, feels more relaxed, quite influenced by Latin pop, and with those sunset tones that love brings us, and you can tell that this feeling was present in the singer's life, because the song is dedicated to her ex Antonio de la Rua.
Lyrically it is an idyll, or as others describe it, a classic love letter. You can feel the passion and romanticism of Shakira in this song, however, I do not think it is such a memorable song that would go to her best songs, or I would not dedicate it, given the opportunity.
You're like a high dose in the veins.
Having a normal version and an acoustic version makes this gem leave me wanting more, it is without a doubt one of my favorites of the album. There is a lot of feeling in the lyrics, in her voice, in the instrumentation, the song takes you completely and you want to keep listening to it over and over again.
In it Shakira shows us a more passionate, dangerous and aggressive side of love, almost like a punch to the wall because of the intensity of your emotions and that excess of love. "Under the asphalt, and lower would I be without you, without you" pretty much describes what the song is about, it's like hitting you with a wall if you are not with that person.
The production, you could say it's a pop ballad, not being as slow as others, feeling quite present the pop influence, but the production and instrumentation become invisible when you listen to Shakira's hypnotic and passionate voice, which shows us a wide range of emotions as the song progresses.

We come to the final single of this era, at least until the arrival of the second volume, which brings more hits. "Las de la Intuición" is an iconic song, one of my favorites, a very pop song, quite electro pop in the best style of Queen Madonna. It is one of the most feminine and sensual songs of her career, and was released as a single at the request of the fans, who made the song a hit in Latin America.
The production is quite pop, perhaps the most "traditional sexy pop" sounding of the whole album, and I think that's what I like most about it, it's a mix of this style with the Latin touch, and Shakira is not afraid to go from a heartbreaking love song to a much more fun, simpler, sexier and feminine in its own way.
It is without a doubt a crowd favorite, often compared to Karol G's Tusa for bringing out that feminine side of all the men, who get carried away with Shakira's black corset and purple wig, to show off their more sensual and feminine side, I always find it hilarious, but I can't hold back every time she starts this song either, and that's when she says: "Adentro, adentro, te vas quedando " it's too sexy to hold back.

I started to think about it, to know what score I would give to this album, and boy did I give it high, I didn't find a single skip that made me say "The album could be better", it's simply genius from beginning to end, and best of all, it's not monotonous, Shakira is not afraid to go from a ballad to a more "new wave" song and then a mix of flamenco and reggaeton, she really decided not to hold back and gave us this Spanish pop gem, leaving us eager to hear the second volume of "Fijación Oral", a rather primitive and psychological term.
It easily enters my top of Shakira's albums, perhaps the one I have liked the most of all the ones I have reviewed, leaving me eager to continue seeing this artistic and musical evolution that Shakira continues to show us. I could go on listing the wonders of this album, but I think what I like the most is the fact that it was a great success, without the need to be in English or bilingual to reach a wider audience, as I would leave English for volume two.

We have Shakira in full pop mode, but she continues to give us musical versatility and artistic lyrics, she still doesn't lose that personal touch, Latin and close to the heart, in the form of lyrics on fire with poetry and feelings. Shakira gave us one of her best albums, a timeless jewel, and what I think is even better is that she is still going to improve, have bigger hits and give us more art.
It was a great album, it made me feel great and it certainly helps me to start a very nice week. Bienvenidos, melómanos y lectores.
Hoy empieza una nueva semana, lo que significa que hay un millón de posibilidades y sonrisas para nosotros. Me siento un poco motivado, pues el fin de semana las cosas no salieron como esperaba, pero esta semana la tengo en blanco y puedo hacer muchas cosas maravillosas con ella. Así que, ¿qué mejor que empezarlo con una reseña de la increíble Shakira? De seguro su buena música me transmite excelentes vibras para mis días, así que vamos allá.
Ver el álbum al que le toca la reseña, me pone contento, porque ”Fijación Oral, Vol. 1” Es uno de los álbumes que más esperaba para escuchar completo por primera vez junto a ustedes y dar mi opinión al respecto. Me puse manos a la obra a investigar al respecto mientras leía un poco de su trasfondo, su origen y la era en general, obteniendo detalles de los que no tenía ni idea, por ejemplo, que ella y Gustavo Cerati fueron los principales productores, cosa que me entusiasmó mucho.
“Fijación Oral, Vol. 1” pinta a ser una gran maravilla musical, con canciones primordiales de la carrera de Shakira, tales como “Las De La Intuición” y “La Tortura”, viendo que el álbum está catalogado como uno más Latin Pop, ya de lleno con el género que la volvió más comercial y bien recibida por el mercado, sin embargo, notamos de nuevo que no se detiene en un género y hace uso de elementos del rock, folk, reguetón e incluso otros menos conocidos. Hoy simplemente me puse mis audífonos, les invito a hacer lo mismo y a que se unan a mí en la reseña de ”Fijación Oral, Vol. 1” de Shakira.
No pido que todos los viernes sean de fiesta.
De pequeño solía estar obsesionado con el sencillo líder de este álbum, “La Tortura” cuenta con la colaboración de Alejandro Sanz, quién no me fascina como cantante, pero cuya presencia en la canción hace que sea una bomba química y sensual, es increíble la pasión que se nota entre ambos artistas a la hora de presentar esta canción, me hace decir ¡Viva el arte!
Bien, hablando un poco de la producción, notamos bastante la influencia del flamenco, mezclándolo con ritmos más latinos, como reguetón, al que Shakira apoyó “Shaketon” por tomar el género y darle su toque personal. Mi parte favorita es en el puente, mientras canta Alejandro, hay una explosión de sonidos que me envuelven y me hacen querer escucharla cada vez más.
Líricamente, Shakira nos habla de un ex que se arrastra pidiendo volver con ella, pero ella, aún sabiendo que le duele, decide no regresar porque al final del día sabe que eso será lo mejor para ella. Yo amo la dinámica de conversación que tiene la canción, la hace adictiva para mí, es probablemente una de mis canciones favoritas de toda la discografía de Shaki.
No juegues a insistir
Las excusas ya existían antes de ti.
El segundo sencillo dista bastante de lo que fue el primero, nos topamos con “No”, una colaboración con Gustavo Cerati, que nos muestra su talento como productor y hace parte de la instrumentación de esta pista, sin embargo nos deja deseando un poco de su voz acompañando a nuestra Colombiana.
Ahora bien, siguiendo un poco con el tema lírico de la canción anterior, vemos en esta joyita musical que Shakira no está dispuesta a volver con esta persona, por mucho que le duela y lo extrañe, pero está consciente que lo mejor es dejarlo atrás. Esta canción está escrita de una manera tan cruda, dolorosa y hermosa que tiene líneas demasiado buenas, pero mi favorita es ”No, no me mires como antes, no hables en plural, la retórica es tu arma más letal”, escucharlo con su voz hizo que tuviera escalofríos.
El sonido es bastante calmado, es una canción del puro estilo de balada, esa típica canción desgarradora que Shakira sabe hacer, y en especial con un grande como lo fue Cerati. Nada que criticar a esta canción, porque cuando tu piel se eriza escuchando una canción, sabes que es muy buena.
Con la luna en mi nariz.
Ahora tenemos el tercer sencillo, que si bien no es tan pop como “La Tortura”, no es una balada tan triste y profunda como “No”. Podría fácilmente ponerla al lado de canciones de pop latino como La Quinta Estación o Julieta Venegas. Es una tierna canción de amor, y da las vibras que transmite el vídeo, de ir caminando por la orilla de la playa, muy romántico.
La producción, como mencioné anteriormente, se siente más relajada, bastante influenciada por el pop latino, y con esos tonos de atardecer que nos brinda el amor, y se nota que este sentimiento estaba presente en la vida de la cantante, porque la canción está dedicada a su ex Antonio de la Rúa.
Líricamente es un idilio, o como lo describen otros, una clásica carta de amor. Se siente mucho la pasión y el romanticismo de Shakira en esta canción, sin embargo, no creo que sea una canción tan memorable que pasaría a sus mejores canciones, o tampoco la dedicaría, llegada la oportunidad.
Eres como una dosis alta en las venas.
Tener una versión normal y una versión acústica hace que esta joya me deje con ganas de más, es sin duda una de mis favoritas del álbum. Hay mucho sentimiento en las letras, en su voz, en la instrumentación, la canción te lleva por completo y quieres seguir escuchándola una y otra vez.
En ella Shakira nos muestra un lado más pasional, peligroso y agresivo del amor, casi como un golpe a la pared por la intensidad de tus emociones y de ese exceso de amor. “Debajo el asfalto, y más abajo estaría yo sin ti, sin ti” describe bastante lo que es la canción, es como golpearte con una pared si no estás con esa persona.
La producción, podría decirse que es una balada pop, no siendo tan lenta como otras, sintiéndose bastante presenta la influencia pop, pero la producción y la instrumentación se hacen invisibles cuando escuchas la hipnótica y pasional voz de Shakira, que nos muestra una amplia gama de emociones a medida que la canción avanza.

Llegamos al sencillo final de esta era, al menos hasta la llegada del segundo volumen, que trae más hits. “Las de la Intuición” es una canción icónica, una de mis favoritas, una muy pop, bastante electro pop al mejor estilo de la reina Madonna. Es de las canciones más femeninas y sensuales de su carrera, y fue lanzada como sencillo a petición de los fanáticos, quienes volvieron a la canción un éxito en Latino América.
La producción es bastante pop, quizá la que suene más al “pop sexy tradicional” de todo el álbum, y creo que es lo que más me gusta de ella, es una mezcla de este estilo con el toque latino, y Shakira no tiene miedo de pasar de una canción desgarradora de amor a una mucho más divertida, más sencilla, más sexy y femenina en su propia manera.
Es sin duda una favorita del público, comparada a menudo con Tusa de Karol G por sacar ese lado femenino de todos los hombres, que se dejan llevar por el corsé negro y la peluca morada de Shakira, para lucir su lado más sensual y femenino, siempre me parece hilarante, pero yo tampoco me puedo contener cada vez que empieza esta canción, y es que cuando dice: “Adentro, adentro, te vas quedando” es demasiado sexy para contenerse.

Me puse a pensarlo, saber que puntuación le daría a este álbum, y vaya que la puse alta, no encontré un solo skip que me hiciera decir “El álbum puede ser mejor”, es simplemente una genialidad de principio a fin, y lo mejor de todo es que no es monótono, Shakira no teme de pasar de una balada a una canción más “new wave” y luego una mezcla de flamenco y reguetón, ella realmente decidió no contenerse y nos brindó esta joya del pop en español, dejándonos con muchas ganas de oír el segundo volumen de “Fijación Oral”, un término bastante primitivo y psicológico.
Fácilmente entra en mi top de álbumes de Shakira, quizá el que más me ha gustado de todos los que les he hecho reseña, me deja con ganas de seguir viendo esta evolución artística y musical que Shakira nos sigue mostrando. Podría seuir enumerando las maravillas de este álbum, pero creo que lo que más me gusta es el hecho de que fue un gran éxito, sin necesidad de ser en inglés o bilingüe para llegar a más público, pues el inglés lo dejaría para el volumen dos.

Tenemos a Shakira en modo full pop, pero nos sigue brindando versatilidad musical y letras artísticas, aun no pierde ese toque tan personal, latino y cercano al corazón, en forma de letras incendiadas en poesía y sentimientos. Sahkira nos dio una de sus mejores álbumes, una joya eterna, y lo que me parece mejor es que, aún va a mejorar, tener hits más grandes y brindarnos más arte.
Fue una genialidad de álbum, me hizo sentir muy bien y, sin duda, me ayuda a comenzar una muy bonita semana. Ahora, ustedes habían escuchado alguna canción del álbum, estoy casi seguro de eso, así que comenten ¿Cuál es su opinión de esta evolución de Shakira? ¿Prefieren a la versión que era más rockera? Muy buena reseña: completa y bien descrita según cada canción de la Shaki, a la cual le tengo un cariño muy especial. Estas rocolitas me transportan a épocas más viejas, aunque parece que Shakira sigue teniendo la misma edad, XD. Me encanta la colaboración con Alejandro Sanz, de hecho, vi cuando estrenaron el videoclip por HTV jaja XD.
"No" es nostálgica; me gusta más que La Tortura. Este ha sido uno de los mejores trabajos de la Shaki; es una excelente cantante, incluso cuando anda despechada jejeje.

Me encantan todas las canciones de shakira de verdaita, necesitamos volver a limpiar la casa con estas canciones jajaja. Mis favoritas por siempre y para siempre seran " La tortura" y " Las de la intuición" son unas obras de arte, de verdad que me encanta.
