Hive Open mic week 288// NEAR THE CROSS (cover by AO WILSON) Hello guys, here are we again this week, it's another wonderful week again. I remain my humble self, your favorite guitarist, @aowilson, my personality remains the same, here is my participation/entry for the new week.

My interpretation!!!
This week we explore a theme named: GOSPEL. As we reflect on the theme for the week, we pray for the propagation of the gospel in every heart. Let the seed of the gospel reach out to everyone in hive open mic. We will not just participate but we will experience the power of the gospel. The cross.

I intentionally chose the song of the cross because it was from the cross that the Gospel began from. There will be no gospel without the cross. Infact, the cross is the gospel !!!!

I will only be singing the first stanza and the second stanza and then finalize with the chorus of the hymn, you can join me too if you want to sing along. If you have your SSS, turn to hymn number 312, you will find the song there.

The original writer of the song was Fanny Crospy. He wrote the words of the hymn in 1869 while the music was added by William Howard. Am a lover of hymns and this one is one of the hymns I hold so dearly.

Jesus, keep me near the cross
Daily, keep me near the cross, in the cross is where my glory is forever...I don't have any other options, the cross is my glory ever!!!
Till I am finally in my place of rest, I will keep singing and waiting for that day and hour. Oh my glory, my covering....
