I forgot to post yesterday, or couldn't be bothered rather.. 😄
Not much happened on Thursday anyway apart from me making @steve.and.anke sort of official.
We went to Little Wymondley in the evening which was a good night. Pete wants me to sing some of his newly written songs. Only problem is they're all just in his "ed", no recordings. I asked him to record them on his phone for me so I can learn them.
He's on Spotify if you care to give him a listen.
You'll only find his "old shit" on there though.. his words.. 😄

It appears to be Halloween again; I must admit I'm not a fan and the lights are low when it's trick or treat time.

It can be disheartening for some when they think they post something cool and get ignored. Some people don't take that lightly.. we both know some like that.

I'm still not sure, I've got a lot of practicing to do and life to get on with.. lol
I've had a lot longer to build support here and I've met a lot of people. You are not doing too bad, but given how small the Hive community is there are limited votes to go around. We need to keep building it up. Do you know anyone else who might be interested?
I am planning to go tonight. I shall play with some of the others and may do a solo set too.

Actifit forces you to post daily if you want to keep your ranking, not something I'd normally do, but it's probably a good thing to keep things rolling that way.
Most of the people I know are networking offline and are pretty good at it I must say! They prefer to play for real, the human interaction is still the driver for the musical scene.
And what they post on FB etc is mostly gig dates and a video from time to time.
They wouldn't be interested in having to write 400 word novels on something you can see in the vid. That is part of the problem in my opinion why many give up quickly.
I don't think you'll see much of Steve here in future.. all his HP will go the new account so I can use it for him..
I shall nudge a few people; I've put a bio on my Facebook but I don't think many people actually look at that.
Chances aren't bad for tonight, but I won't joining the band.. I'll leave that to you guys.
If people are posting videos elsewhere then they may be able to put them on Hive too. They just need to write a few words about it really. I cannot guarantee earnings, but it could widen their audience. Hive needs to reach some critical mass to be useful. Imagine if all the local musicians were on there using it instead of Facebook! I know that is unlikely in the short term as FB has a much bigger audience.

You can do more interesting post formats on it than FB, so could post here and link from there. That's what I tend to do.
How do you do that? Can't say I've done it yet or even thought about it.
Thing is, I'm often confused by some posts.. I read somewhere don't post here what's already on other platforms, so only new stuff... 🙄
That is WHAT WILL PUT people off, these silly little rules that some people come up with.
At the end of the day, it's not REALLY about what you post about.. Some people get good votes for not much really, so why should something produced in another life be wrong?

Yes, it does matter who you know and some will get the votes regardless, but I'm sure many want real engagement. I know you get a fair few comments. The rewards may be small, but would you make anything elsewhere?
Your Hive posts about your gigs have lots of pics. You could do a FB post with one pic and a link to Hive that says to go there for more. Just a suggestion.
The 'Hive police' can be petty, but I have no influence over them. As long as you are not just copying content you put elsewhere they should leave you alone. As I said several times, I don't want them to drive people away just over little mistakes.
Which content do you mean? Photos or text?
Thing is you only get so many photos taken by people and you duplicate if you want gigs but want to show them on Hive too. So not sure how to get out of that one.. 🤷♀
There's no clear guidance on what counts as duplication, but some people have done straight copies. I wouldn't worry too much about this for now as you don't seem to be on the 'naughty list'.
