Open Mic at the Hen & Chickens with Mark. Where's the time going? Another month gone..

Mia has a new toy but it's a bit big. The smaller version of Dino has been very popular and there's not much left of him or them rather, there are two.
They don't seem to sell the small one here so we'll see how we go with this one.
It smells of chicken which I now think Mia is allergic to so this is ok.

Honestly? I feel they're all great ones, reading, commenting, connecting and the rest!
My favourite is "whatever comes to mind" actually, it gives everyone room to explore!
I must admit I never took note of the 150 word count! I take it it's a measure for your curation, how much effort has gone into the post?
Most days I write more than that but sometimes I feel a day is too mundane that I can't really expand on it.. 😄

I understand it's not always possible to maintain the words because not every day is the same. We are trying to encourage all the actifit users to focus on writing something because many actifitters don't write almost anything and sometimes post one picture and one line report card. Obviously nice, meaningful posts always get priority. Our main goal is to encourage everyone to engage more...
Me too and that's why I don't write post often because I don't find words to write post :D hahaha...
Yep, I have noticed! I tend to ignore those I must admit, a little bit of effort isn't too much to ask! There is ALWAYS something you can write about and even if it's the weather! The British love to talk about the weather.. 😂
That's cool and I'd do the same but because I found I lose my Actifit ranking. I try to keep more of a routine now as it's good writing practice and gives me a bit of a diary but sometimes I run out of time.. Too much going.. lol

I am not an actifitter otherwise I would do the same probably... But sometimes I write posts with no meaning, haha...

open mics are so much fun. @jasperdick and I are supposed to go to The House of Machines to do one soon. We actually don't get paid for all our gigs. sometimes it's more about networking, but of course, we sincerely appreciate the ones we do get paid for. We like to be picky about our venues because our music is precious to us.

I was wondering about your gigs actually. Do you play long sets for free then?
Do you bring your own kit or are amps, mics and such provided?
For us longer sets of say 45 minutes are fine when we just plug and play.
I should think so! You both write your own stuff which always amazes me! I never have to wear the hat of shame because that is all I do covers and so does Steve.. 😄

No the long sets (2 hours or more) are generally paid. Sometimes the short ones too. We're in it for the love though, which is incredibly priveledged. I wouldn't want to "sell out." I love what we do and our natural styles are so complimentary. You'd swear we'd been at it for decades 😉
