Slip-Ups: March 27 2023
Jogging
This morning went rather well! It was a little on the nippy side, but the sunshine might have helped with that and a new song I'm learning.. Turns out that "Sober" by Pink is a right speeder!
I was flying and had to be careful not to overdo it, and more importantly keep sight of Mia who didn't feel the hype..
I was a bit late as the clocks went forward on Saturday and it takes me a few days to adapt, but I had enough time to jog around the park and back again just in time for work.
There were a lot of school kits on the way slowing us down as Mia likes to engage.. 🙄😄
At lunch time I did a round of planks to get a bit of core strength back. I'm feeling much better now that I'm bit more active again.
My step count sure is pretty good today.
Open Mic
The evening was spent, well, you've guessed it, at an Open Mic.
This is a weekly one and last week I gave it a miss to practice.
I must say, that I did think during my set, that I should have given this one a miss too as I had to laugh off a fair few hiccups 🙄 I've clearly been spending too much time on duets lately and need to spend some on my own stuff now!
It was a good night though; it's great connecting with people and hearing of other events in the area.

Was it literal hiccups or just slip-ups? Where was the open mic? You've played lots that I've not been to. I have a busy week anyway.

Ah, a new word... slip-ups.. Do I need to correct it? lol
It was slip-ups indeed.. I wasn't prepared enough, but hey, lesson learned..
Don't work too hard!
Words can have many meanings. All part of the fun of language. The 'AI' apps are getting cleverer, but can they handle these idiosyncrasies (ooh, long word)?
I need to prepare for the next folk session as well as the open mic on Thursday. Always something to work on.

AI will come across issues, no doubt! There are some who say robots can never fully mimic people's minds.
I've always looked at languages and this writing makes me do so even more.
It's interesting to say the least!
You better get on with preparing then, as should I, clearly..
We have so much influencing how we talk. We can be referencing all sorts of things such as old TV shows. Ray and I both thought of 'four candles' during the raffle on Saturday. The human brain is a wonderful thing and hard to imitate. I was discussing the issues with AI on another post someone did. Philosophers have lots to think about.
They do have to think a lot indeed!
Pity I don't know many of those old TV shows..
I could catch up on them, but there's only so much time in a day and it won't be the same thing anyhow if you haven't been there at the time..
But I did watch some old ones, well, the obvious ones "Only Fools.." and such like.
Let me know if there's a good one I should know and that runs on the tele.. maybe I find if I some time... :)
I hope you have seen Fawlty Towers. I grew up in the 70s (as the song says), so I know a lot of stuff from back then that will mean little to younger folk. I can barely keep up with new stuff I want to see now. Currently working through a scifi show (Firefly) from 10 years ago that I missed before. I don't watch too much TV though.
I don't either; you watch your life away with tele..
I have seen it indeed, a few times actually..
Your song? Maybe you should do it on Thursday..

I'm notorious for forgetting lyrics, so I know where you're coming from.
The number of times I've had to ask bandmates, just before playing a song, "What's the first line of this again?"
It's the ones I know the best that usually get me, because I often don't feel the need to practice them..
You might have a few slip-ups, but you're such a pro!
Nobody ever notices... you seem to be an expert on covering it up
I must take some lessons on that. 😁
