🌄 New Bike Is Here

Hello dear friends,

I have mentioned several times that my old pedelec - often incorrectly referred to as an e-bike - has now earned its retirement. I bought the old bike in 2013, when I was way ahead of the trend with my electrified mountain bike. Things will look very different in 2024. Some manufacturers only build electric fullies. So last week I got my new bike. As you can see, this time it's a fully. I have remained loyal to the Bosch system. With the new enduro bike you can (could) race down the mountain extremely sporty and fast (but as I said, I can't). And at the end, the body's own tank is topped up with fresh wild garlic. ;-)

Hallo liebe Freunde,

wie ich in meinen vergangenen Artikel mehrfach erwähnt habe, hat mein altes Pedelec - oft fälschlicherweise als E-Bike bezeichnet - nun seinen Ruhestand nach vielen Tausend Kilomentern verdient. 2013, als ic das alte Rad gekauft hatte,war ich mit meinem elektrifizierten Mountainbike dem Trend weit voraus. Im Jahr 2024 sieht die Sache allerdings ganz anders. Manche Hersteller bauen nur noch Elektro-Fullys. Letzte Woche habe ich endlich mein neues Mountainbike bekommen, und wir ihr sehen könnt, ist es diesmal ein Fully geworden. Dem Bosch-System bin ich dabei treu geblieben. Mit dem neuen Enduro-Bike kann (könnte) man extrem sportlich und schnell den Berg runterballern (aber wie gesagt, ich kann es nicht). Und am Ende der Tour wird der körpereigene Tank mit frischem Bärlauch aufgefüllt. ;-)

My driving skills are not exactly outstanding. Fortunately, I'm also not particularly brave. So I won't be riding dangerous trails in a breakneck manner. I'd rather descend. That's why I like to joke that my new bike is a bit like a Porsche in the hands of a pensioner. But I have to say that the first few tours were pure pleasure. Of course, I first had to adjust the new bike to my riding position. The first thing I always do with a new bike is to change the saddle. I'm sticking with my SQ Lab saddle.

Mein fahrerisches Können ist nicht gerade ausgeprägt. Passend dazu bin ich auch zum Glück nicht sonderlich mutig. Ich werde also kaum gefährliche Trails in halsbrecherischer Manier fahren. Lieber steige ich mal ab. Daher scherze ich nun auch gerne, daß mein neues Rad ein wenig wie ein Porsche in den Händen eines Rentners ist. Aber ich muß sagen, die ersten Touren waren wirklich der pure Genuß. Natürlich musste ich das neue Rad erstmal an meine Sitzposition anpassen. Das erste, was ich bei einem neuen Rad stets mache, ist den Sattel zu tauschen. Ich bleibe bei meinem SQ Lab Sattel.

The Calderone Inc. remix of our single Foreign Land was also released at the weekend. Like the original, this 150 bpm hardtrance remix will be released on Hands Up Freak Records. The original is currently still in the Dance50 DJ Charts. A big thank you goes out to all my loyal supporters.

Am Wochenende wurde auch der Calderone Inc. Remix unserer Single "Foreign Land" veröffentlicht. Dieser 150 Bpm schnelle Hardtrance Remix erscheint wie das Original auch wieder auf Hands Up Freak Records. Das Original befindet sich aktuell immer noch in den Dance50 DJ Charts. Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht raus an alle meine treuen Unterstützer.

Unfortunately, the weather is pretty mixed here. Of course, spring is here to stay and can already be clearly seen everywhere. I'm looking forward to hopefully many nice bike rides, which should also have the positive effect of improving my physical fitness. That's why I cycle a lot in Eco mode, i.e. with the lowest level of motor assistance. The completely dead battery on my old bike forced me to do this. Now I can let it rip again if I want to. It's always good to have reserves. Not just when cycling... ;-)

Das Wetter ist leider bei uns ziemlich durchwachsen. Der Frühling lässt sich natürlich nicht mehr aufhalten und ist schon überall deutlich zu erkennen. Ich freue mich auf hoffentlich viele schöne Fahrradtouren, die auch den positiven Effekt haben sollten, meine körperliche Fitness noch zu verbessern. Daher fahre ich auch viel im Eco Modus, also auf niedrigster Motorunterstützung. Der völlig fertige Akku meines alten Rades hatte mich dazu gezwugen. Nun kann ich es auch wieder krachen lassen, wenn ich möchte. Es ist immer gut, noch Reserven zu haben. Nicht nur beim radeln... ;-)
