Three Tune Tuesday - Songs in the key of Horny

It's been a while since I put together a selection for Three Tune Tuesday. Life has had me busy with no time to even listen own mind but recently I set up a Nas server with all my music collection on tap to my various devices so I am again falling in love with music again and wanted to share some stuff you may not have heard. Each musician is like a rabbit hole to fall down so just take each of these tracks as a primer and go check out more of their catalogue. You may just have discovered a new taste you never knew you had.

What they all have in common is the use of brass. Not my favourite sounds normally as most of my live experiences have been of army marching bands that walk along like clockwork toys bombarding me with sound, like it is so sort of weapon. But these guys have made love, not war.

First up

Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass - Spanish Flea

Admit it, you can't help but smile and feel good once you hear Herb and the band. I went for probably his best-known track which starts as it means to go on with just playful happiness.
When I'm feeling down he always picks me up like he is an emotional metronome. 1965 was the year of its release and it still sounds as good today.
A little-known fact is that Herb Alpert is the A in A&M records.

OK Go - This too Will pass

OK Go is a strange band. I'm not a big fan of their music usually but their videos are some of the best out there with each one shot in a one take extravaganze. This has led to some amazing visuals and how the hell did they do that moments? I just wished I liked their music more. This is however is the exception for me, I really like this track and the riding rhythm.

Meute - LoCKeDoWN2

This is a band that appeared out of nowhere on my Youtube feed when I just bought a new TV a couple of months back and wanted to test out the 4k image quality. Interestingly I also got to check out the sound quality as I bopped around the living room like the guy in denim in the video.
As far as I know, they are a German band who do remixes of dance music in brass. This signature Video is also a cool style, with you really feeling like you are there inside the performance.

I love the marimba solo. Very brave with a live audience patiently waiting for the beat to kick back in. It almost becomes like an ambient interlude. This is a band that makes brass bands cool again.
