The Storm Shield.
Hello all.
How's the weather over there? It's been a very hot season here until the rain decided to fall today and I am loving the weather right now.
Since it is raining here, I got inspired by the rain because I was outside without an umbrella when it started but was helped by a good jolly fellow who shared her umbrella with me and then I thought, we all need an umbrella during the rain.
However, the umbrella can be also figurative, which means we need people to run to during the hard days or storms in our lives.
Which is why I will be sharing this song today.
The umbrella can represent protection and loyalty during tough days.
Do you have a figurative umbrella in your life?
When it gets tough right now whom will you turn to? Can you be an umbrella for someone too?
Empathy and compassion can be the driving force to being available for someone who is in dire need in turbulent times.
Remembering, that the table can turn too will help us to stay humble while sharing what we have with others.
This song is a perfect t reminder that we shouldn't stick with people only during their good days and leave when things go south.
We want to be true friends sticking to the end during the good, the bad and the ugly days.
Good friends shine together, cry together and laugh together.
Being an umbrella for someone is also elevating someone without looking down on them, it means not discriminating when we come in contact with someone lower than our financial status or not from our race or any kind of class.
Being an umbrella could mean bringing great ideas to the table for someone lacking the ideas, bringing great advice to someone who can help them in the long run in future.
Being a source of encouragement, cheer, support or a reason to hang onto to life for someone means practising kindness every day, being gracious with the words of our mouth, wearing a smile everywhere we go, being peaceable with people around us and looking for ways to put a smile on people's face in a little way.
I heard this song when I was in high school and didn't see the figurative meaning of this song until now that I'm older.
When we have an umbrella in our lives, we aren't scared of the rain because we can always weather the storm, we are hopeful and confident that no matter the obstacle we will always conquer and come out victorious.
A very simple way to gain someone as an umbrella is to be an umbrella as well, if you want a friend, be a friend, be open-minded, and be what you want others to be to you.
The musical video is also very pleasing to watch, the creativity is top-notch so I am sure you'll enjoy it.
I hope we all find someone who will be an umbrella in our lives and when we have the opportunity to be an umbrella for someone I hope we do that without grudges or conditions because one good turn deserves another.
