Adulthood... #deepsigh.
Nobody told us how tasking it would be, when I was quite young I would frequently reach out to all my friends, I am more of a call person than a chat person, and I cherish and value everyone who is in my life.
Gradually, the hustles of life begin to set in and it's not like the people in my life don't mean a thing to me anymore, it's just funny how 24 hours sometimes feels too short to do almost everything I hope to do, I come home really exhausted and the next thing on my mind is to hit the sack.
As an adult, you're expected to think of what to eat, pay your bills, save, keep up with your spiritual life, keep up with family and friends, exercise, do the laundry, do some basic home repairs, eat healthy, get stuck in traffic (this one is inevitable if you live in Lagos) get frustrated, cry a little, grind again, and the list is endless, abeg make una comot my name from this adulthood list, i don tire.
I used to get angry at my Uncles and Aunt for not calling often when I was younger, now reality is setting in! Ha! ko easy!!
At this point, as soon as anyone cross my mind, I try so hard to reach out to them and I love the fact that we can still catch up with our lives even though it's not as frequent as we would love to, but you see that, you just forget me? Na that one dey pain me pass I mean if Mohammed does not go to the mountain, mountain should go to Mohammed, abi e easy for your end? Give me cheat code oo.

I don't think now is the time to get angry at our friends for not always reaching out to us, we know in our hearts of hearts, we got them and we love them, and we will always show up for them when they need us.
Here is me dedicating this beautiful song to anyone of you feeling abandoned by your friends, they truly love you but it's not always easy to keep up.
Have it at the back of your mind that, they cherish the bond and wish things were easier enough to frequently reach out, reaching out to our friends shouldn't be left to one person, if you think about them, call them, say something nice to them and make them feel loved.
I hope this article meets you well and you are at peace with yourself. Adulthood is inevitable, may we embrace it with a positive mindset and do the best we can to have a meaningful life while balancing it with our social life.

It's not always easy keeping up but we try our best.
Adulthood comes with a whole lot of responsibilities that are inevitable. It leaves one with little and almost no time to get in contact with loved ones, no matter how much we want to.
Not minding that, we can still squeeze out time to talk to our families and families. Their support means a whole lot.

Yeah, that's why I said while going about our daily hustles we should balance it with a good social life. A friend is very important.
We never know what people are going through at any point in time. We should therefore always try to be more compassionate and understanding. Sometimes, it's all a person can do just to get through the day. Self-care is important and it needs to take priority. Those closest to us won't drift too far π
