Dancing Highlights of the Week!
Last week, I spent a few days with the sweetest man in the world. The magnetic attraction I feel towards him is an incredible and new experience for me. I feel humbled by the fact that I won't see him for months, yet I also feel inspired to deepen and nurture my creative inner life in the meantime.
This past week, I've been dancing to pop/r&b songs from the past, since @mada said he could picture me as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson. The funny thing is, I often fantasized about doing just that when I was a little girl. R&B soul music was a big part of my childhood, from Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight, to disco dance classics, to steamy 90s vibes: D'Angelo, Tevin Campbell, Maxwell, New Edition, and more. Yum!
One of my favorite memories was feeling tipsy at some sort of celebration gathering for public school educators. It was at a local bar known for its karaoke nights, which happened to be that night. At one point, I remember hearing Whitney Houston sing to me in my head. Without thinking, I sashayed up to the stage and requested her beautiful song "The Greatest Love of All." I sang my heart out and actually received a standing ovation! This song was totally there for me when I would feel down as a child. I would cry my eyes out to this song :')
Here's a video of me dancing and playing with Instagram's augmented reality filters! The floor was super slippery due to the misty morning environment, but I shuffle danced anyways :) Hope you enjoy, Hive community!
Earlier this week, I was inspired to vibe out to some Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Whitney Houston.
Haha, love this screenshot for the cover image.
Makes me very happy, watching you dance. Thank you xxxx
Thanks @trucklife-family! I value that we're connected here. I appreciate the love <3
So much fun! You danced so hard your hat fell off: )
Right? Being in love totally enhances my dance sessions :)
And I'm grateful that there were no accidents. In retrospect, it wasn't very safe for me to shuffle on such a slippery floor. Ha!
I love that duplicate effect.
Thank you for sharing.
